Dallas is #1 in Red Zone Scoring Percentage: 74% overall, 89% last 3

Both teams have been pretty much respectful about each other, that's a good sign that the 49ers are taking this game seriously. It won't be a walk over, though I would like to see a score of 34-21 49ers

this is why the defense can't allow them to have long drives and stop them short of the red zone. Force Maher to beat us.

I've been saying this to everyone, its going to come down to the TO battle. Whoever wins that will most likely win this game. We've only had 1 win this year when we've tied or lost the TO battle this year.

It's gonna come down to who's defense can get stops whether that be TOs or forcing punts

We're gonna win because we're scoring TDs and giving our punter the day off

We are scoring 40 points and DAL is gonna be lucky to get to 20!

I'm hoping it will be like when Carolina came to town on a 4-5 game winning streak wanting all that smoke.

We're winning by three scores in a more impressive fashion than we did vs SEA
It's all about the run game for me, I don't expect the Niners defense to suddenly revert back to mid season form and dominate, especially given the way Dak and the Cowboys are capable of moving the ball. Gladly be wrong here, but the bend but don't break nature of the Seattle game was concerning. We came out sluggish as well.

If the Niners average 4.5 ypc, which is just below their season average, I think they win. The Cowboys are a bit worse than the Niners on run defense (4.4 ypc). However, I don't expect us to gash them. I think the Niners should make a strong commitment to the run regardless if they are down early or not. I think Kyle will use the run to open up the pass, and I hope Dallas does the opposite.

Smith has been the starter at tackle all season. Peters has been the backup. Peters has been a depth guy, filling in on snaps due to injury.

The interior OL is where the 49ers should be able to create a whole lot of confusion. Unless they're just allowed to hold all game long like KC was.

Just listen to Dallas analysis they've said Smith has been worse than Peters at PBLK and has a ton of holding penalties.

The 49ers defense in the last 4 games has been terrible, and that's a nice way of saying it! It doesn't get noticed much because all the attention has been focused on the offense, which is fine I guess. Also, the offense has been on the field longer, so that obviously helps the defense.
Regardless of the final score in each of the last 4-5 games, the eye test shows the defense has been regressing, and that's simply not good for a team that has SB-win aspirations.

I'm not sure if the defense can suddenly become elite, and to add to the woes, thanks to all the interviews for Demeco Ryans! No idea why the NFL allows interviews at this stage of the playoffs, that too 4 in one week.
The offense better carry this team once again, because if it comes to a one score game, and the opposing team has the ball, it could go either way.

it's NOT that the D has been terrible, it's just we haven't played any REAL team since KC and remember what happened there.. our D is very good, no doubt, but I wish all the hosts would stop saying that's it's close the the Baltimore and the 85 Bears..

If you ask me, it's ONLY between the 86 Giants and the TBay Super Bowl team.. VERY GOOD BUT NOT GREAT..

so LETS GO TEAM !!!

GO NINERSSSS !!!

In the ENTIRE NFL, there were NINE teams that finished with 10 or more wins.

We were one of them. We played two 10+ win teams and split. Lost to the Chiefs (with several key injuries) and beat the Chargers.

The Cowboys were also one of those 10+ win teams. They played four 10+ win teams. Lost one (Eagles - with Hurts) and won three. (beat Bengals, Eagles - without Hurts, and Vikings - pretenders)

It is the nature of the beast in the NFL... The great teams are not going to play many other 'great' teams until the playoffs. Unless you're the Vikings, you are what your record says you are.

Good thing for them then that Vinovich is reffing.

As pointed out by insider Gosselin and Michael Gehlken. Outside of the New York Giants, the Dallas Cowboys are the most penalized team remaining in the postseason at 5.9 per game. This is also a rematch of the 2021 Wild Card Round, a game in which the Cowboys were penalized 14 times and lost 23-17.

Vinovich is a fan of letting teams play. His crews assigned 70 fewer penalties than the crew that threw the most flags (Carl Cheffers) in 2022. That accounts for 835 fewer penalty yards. San Francisco drew 5.4 penalties per contest, ranking 15th in football, so they don't stand to get as much of a benefit as Dallas does.

Good info, thanks. Hopefully the officiating won't become a big factor in this game for either team, ( but especially us )

There is no shutdown defense anymore. It's about being good situationally. 3rd down, red zone, turnovers. 3 years ago when the 49ers played in the Super Bowl, I kept saying the matchup was really between the SF offense and Chiefs defense. I kept saying that it was going to take 30-35 points to win. They're the Warriors of the NFL.

I'm telling you this Cowboys hype machine is insufferable. It's totally fair to say Dak is the best remaining quarterback in the NFC playoffs, but comparing him to Peyton Manning as that nerd Gregg Rosenthal did today? Really?

I don't know how you all can watch that trash. I mean you have Deion Sanders talking up an Eagles/Boys NFC Championship game. Maybe he is right. He didn't even acknowledge that they have a game against us. ESPN spent all week singing our praises only to pick Dallas to win today. It was nearly a clean sweep, one guy did pick us.

This is why I'm gonna be sick to my stomach if DAL wins which they're certainly capable of.
