Are Wins a QB stat?

Marino was awesome, his teams weren't

end of story

can lock thread now
Yes if you have a QB that makes plays that shouldn't be possible and continually brings the team back when they're down. It's a QB sense in that he's considered the leader since he handles every snap. If he hands off or never throws a pass longer than 5 yards it's hard to give the win to the QB.

It's a team stat and always will be for 99% of the teams.

Jimmy Garoppolo has the 6th highest QB rating of all-time. Perhaps no single stat works by itself, but rather helps tell the full "story" about a QB (or any player)?
Highly correlated, so I vote yes.
Similar to baseball pitchers

He ranks top 10 in QB wins and his percentage is better than Brees. Even looking only at wins.. which I don't recommend.. he's still highly successful.

While ratings help, they don't tell the whole story

6th highest, but can't make a probowls, all pros, can't be top of the league in any stats that don't have a % sign. Only loved by locals. and a lot of other stuff that kept him from being a good QB

The only thing that saving anyone from falling off that cliff is the debated W/L record.

Jimmy LIVES in your dome lol. He was talking about Dan Marino.

This isn't about Jimmy. I made that point to show that stats collectively tell the story, not by themselves individually. Jimmy being the 6th highest rated passer of all-time does not mean he's the 6th best or even close. Nor does wins. But W/L is still a QB stat no matter how you slice it. Per NFL.com too.

i believe the debate was "are Wins a QB stat"

the NFL record book appears to prove that they are a QB stat.

Thanks, edited.

If we acknowledge they are an official stat kept by the NFL why is this even an open question for debate? It's settled.
a coffee table book is not official. if it was official it would be on the site..there is a reason why they don't include it

a coffee table book hahahahah. it's a PDF. the NFL made it easily searchable posting it that way.

and it's on the NFL site. and even more specifically it's the operations.nfl.com site.

https://operations.nfl.com/updates/the-game/2022-nfl-record-and-fact-book/
it's a kids book.. there is a reason why you have to download it . parody

you really have no idea what youre talking about. it's downloadable because it's over 700 pages.
no idea about what.. your statement doesn't help you one bit

you cant even keep your opinion straight. first it was coffee table book then it was a kids book. youve lost the plot completely.
this maybe be the most ignorant post here, since when is giving multiple descriptions make it any less lol

the irony of calling someone else's post ignorant.

This thread came put of the Brock thread, people were commenting about how wins are meaningless when Brock's record was brought up.
