Tim Ryan has studied the tape, and is very confident we will beat Philly. He said their corners don't like to tackle and play off the ball, they don't finish physical plays to the whistle like SF, and the LB coverage in the middle of the field is exploitable. He said the Niners are more experienced in big games and will be able to run the ball down their throat.

The 49ers play a good amount of cover 3, which Hurts struggles with, and the D isn't good against 21 personnel or dealing with motion, which are obviously Shanahan staples. We will pound the run game and attack the middle of the field.

LOL

Tim Ryan said nothing that I haven't already said earlier this week. But because Tim Ryan said, it must be news. 😅

I just re-watched the 49ers vs Eagles game last year. The deebo catch and run on that last two minute drive to end the half, he basically YAC'd his way through the Eagles defense. They looked terrible in tackling last year.

Oh we beat them last year too.

Just rewatched the highlights after seeing your post. One thing that stood out is how completely different the current offense is compared to that offense and also, Jalen Hurts was a beast.

I think the current offense is going to prove to be good enough to win the game, but if Hurts makes the same throws and runs as last game, the defense is going to have their hands full.

One other glaring difference was how the offense only dinked & dunked the ball with Jimmy, there wasn't any shots down the field hardly. One major difference that jumps out also is the RBs. CMC has completely changed the offense and with Mitchell & Mason, the running game is much better.

It's going to be a slugfest for sure.

I watched the condensed version of that game last night. One of the biggest things that jumped out at me was how aggressive their d line was playing early on. It seemed they were in the backfield a lot. We started countering that by letting them get by our o lineman and throwing screen passes behind it. It worked really well and helped open the offense up later in the game. The run game wasn't getting much early on but we stuck to it and eventually 1-2 yard gains started turning into 6-7 yard gains late in the game.

I'd like to see Mason get some carries. We need to wear them down early, then let Brock find those seam passes down the field.

One thing for certain, no costly mistakes!! Can't give them anything, at the same time we have to force them into mistakes.

One other thing, last time they played it was only Demeco's 2nd game as DC, I think he's come a long way since then.
I thought I had all the reasons I needed to want the 49ers to win, but then LeSean McCoy started talking.

🤣

That chic on that show gave 0 reasons why she thinks the gap between Hurts and Purdy is wide.

She had a lot to say.
She had a lot of nothing to say.
We'll miss her.
We'll miss her.

He's a RT because when he came to the Eagles future 1st ballot hall of famer Jason Peters was at LT, and was there until just recently. Johnson is an absolute beast. Bosa is lucky he's got a serious injury. You don't go two years without giving up a sack by accident.

He's been saying it for weeks and continues to be wrong lol.

Saying this is Brock's biggest test & lack of experience blah blah blah. Last I checked Hurts has two career playoffs games and is 1-1. How is this not Hurts biggest test all the same??

SF got s**t on last week via the media and they're doing the same thing this week. People acting like SF hasn't won a f**k ton of games with marginal QB play for years and they haven't lost a game since October lol? This ROSTER is battle tested, these dudes have been to NFCCs they've been to a SB.

I'm not saying SF is gonna win no doubt…the lack of respect is pretty wild though. Cool Philly beat a trash Giants team that had no business being in the playoffs imo.

There are some personalities on tv in recent years that just don't belong. That show is full of imbeciles that give opinions based on what teams and players they like, rather than true analysis. It's pitiful

Imagine the narrative if things were different. If we had blown out Minnesota and the Eagles had beaten Dallas 19-12, the narrative would have been that the Eagles are battle tested and faced fiercer competition than the Niners who got by easy.

definitely an east coast bias in sports…
Every hour is different for me. One moment i'm feeling confident that we have the better team. The next moment I list all the reasons we'll lose (rookie QB on the biggest NFC stage, away game 3 hour time difference, mobile QB who can throw, etc). We gotta get through this team. Hopefully it's a surprise to all and we beat their a**. I know its just a game but the anxiety mounts with every playoff win

This game will be a tight contest throughout. Anyone thinking otherwise is fooling themselves. This game will ultimately come down to which QB can handle the pressure better and I like our chances with Brock Purdy who has been outstanding in that area for 8 straight games.

The problem with playing Mason is that it makes our play calling a lot more predictable - that's probably why he doesn't play much until the end

Agreed. It has been reported that the eagles d isn't very good against 21 personnel. With CMC, Juice, Kittle, Deebo and Aiyuk we are able to run the entire playbook.
