Mark Sanchez - Loss to Peyton Manning
Ben Roethlisberger - Loss to Tom Brady
Shaun King - Loss to Kurt Warner and the greatest show on turf
Joe Flacco - Loss to Ben Roethlisberger
All great QB's who were already Super Bowl Champions except Kurt Warner, but we all know how his season ended in '99, NFL MVP (41 TD passes) and Super Bowl Champion.
What does this all have to do with Brock Purdy, well Jalen Hurts is neither, a Super Bowl Champion or a NFL MVP like Kurt Warner. And just like Purdy, Hurts is starting his first NFCC. With that said, even though Purdy is a rookie, I think the playing ground is pretty much even this time.

Yes, key word S P Y !
you have to play Hurts like Harbaugh played Kaep in the Super Bowl. Put a LB on him and makes sure he gets hit every play regardless of whether he is running or throwing. Don't let him dictate the RPO rather force him into making quick decisions and hopefully he'll make mistakes.
I don't know if you guys remember but they played Terrell Suggs like a D lineman and his sole job was to chase Kaepernick regardless of whether he had the ball or not. We have to dedicate a player just for Hurts or it's gonna be a longgggg day.
If you are thinking LB as the spy, maybe Greenlaw?
Maybe. You'd hate to waste talent like Greenlaw or Warner on spying only bc they offer so much more. Maybe depending on the package Aziz or a DB…
I was thinking Hufanga. Even though he isn't a great tackler, I think he can do enough to slow him down so the boys can swarm.
Maybe you change it up to keep the Eagles off guard on who is spying the QB.

A QB spy isnt useless...he still occupies the middle of the field and takes away some routes
That's true. As YAC pointed out, Huff might be a good prospect the only issue with him is he over commits. If the RPO is gonna fool anyone on our D it would be him cause he bites a lot on defense. Plus I think our corners will need all the safety help they can get with those receivers…

On RPO's and zone reads, you have Hufanga attack Hurts no matter what and finish it off with a hit every time.

Hes only been silent if you don't actually watch the games and just read the boxscores.
Nick Bosa rushes off the edge. @nbsmallerbear sees the chip coming so he hesi/counter swipes inside & gets pressure on the QB! #passrush #49ers pic.twitter.com/KTVPiUAVNS

Too true, too true!
4 hurries with 1 hit and a 41.2% win rate. He was also solid in run defense.

Yea I think there was article on this that even though they had 1 sack, Bosa, Armstead, and Omenihu constantly pressuring Dak forced the two turnovers (could have also been a pick 6 and / or a safety added to that). With that said, the key this week will be to contain and maintain their lanes so that Hurts doesn't get room to escape. It's all about discipline.

That's probably going to be case. Brock will have to beat PHI.
Probably. I just find it funny that posters think that's what we need. Yea lets just play hurts like Kap who had 370 yds of offense, 2 TDs, and put up 30 pts in the SB. Sounds good to me
Oh come on. Did you watch that game ? The Ravens game plan threw us out of our comfort zone. We were forced to play a traditional type offense relying on a run game and Kaep's arm. The difference was that our offense had a lot more star power than the Eagles offense does. We had Gore, Vernon Davis, Randy Moss, and Crabtree along with the best oline on the league so Kaep could play catch up.
I think if you eliminate Hurts the Eagles are not that formidable bc their only real threat IMO is AJ Brown.
Dallas Goedert is a sneaky good TE. And Devonta Smith is a beast. Their RB's are hit and miss. Sometimes Miles Sanders tears it up. Sometimes hes non-existent.

Also caused a holding call on the first series and caused a Tyler smith false start. 15 yards caused directly by Bosa right there.
