Hey Everyone, full disclosure, I'm an Eagles fan but love to get as many perspectives as possible on their matchups. I've appreciated much of the discussion here! Many good points being made by (mostly ) logical people who love their team and the game.
Definitely the matchup I was dreading as an Eagles fan but love as a football fan. Two fantastic teams going for the right to rep the NFC. Should be a close game.
My concerns as an Eagles fan mostly come from the ability of the 49ers to run the ball and eat up clock in long sustained drives. Not too worried about the big play, but the 7-8 minute drives that keep the Eagles offense off the field. Hurts is also not at 100%, and Lane Johnson, who hasn't allowed a sack in 2 years, is playing on a torn groin. Also missing Maddox, arguably one of the best slot corners in the league. Combine that with a poised young 49ers QB who isn't asked to do too much and who protects the ball, it could be a long day for me.
My hope is that the Eagles are able to plug up the middle more than the past now that they are both healthy on the Dline and they added both Suh and Joseph in the middle of the season. The Eagles can make some big plays with their WRs but can also pound the ball with probably the best Oline in the league, even against good rushing D (see the Titans). However, this is all recognizing that this is the toughest run D they'll see all year.
Ultimately I think the game may hinge on turnovers, as most close games do. Either way, should be a great game.

But remembr, you only put 19 points on the Cowboys. We scored way more than that on them. If you can't stop Hurts, it's going to be a long day for the 9ers. The Linc will be rocking for sure. I can't wait. I'll be down there tailgating and watching the game at Xfinity Live. It's going to be an awesome day.
I view your 3rd win over the NYG similar to ours over SEA. DAL is a different level of competition.
You have the advantage of rest and travel. Our team is more playoff tested. Both offenses are prolific (including the DAL game - their D played great).
Also, outside of the last game, I would say we're now more of a passing team than known for our D.
Can't wait, should be fun!
It's hard to judge how good a team is when you're using division rivals as your common denominator. Look at how the Bengals played vs the Ravens, then look at their dominating performance over the Bills. The Cowboys and Eagles play twice a year; they know each other in and out. I don't think you can compare the Eagles putting up x amount of points against them, then saying they have a better offense bc we only put up 19.
With that said, I think everyone agrees that this entire debate boils down to QB play. IMO, if Jimmy was our quarterback going into this game, the odds of a Philly victory go wayyyy up. Likewise, replace Hurts with Minshew and I'm willing to bet our odds skyrocket as well. Right now, Hurts is getting a lot of credit for the team's success and justifiably so. He has a better track record than Brock, and is more a threat bc he can use his legs as well as his arm. Home field just makes it tougher bc Brock is a rookie going into a hostile environment.
If we can make Hurts pedestrian, and we've seen it done when he played Wash and Indy, then it becomes more even. I hope Kyle calls an excellent game for Brock and we can pull this one out. That would be great.

The eagles totaled 67 yards at a rate of 2.8 YPC against the titans. Hurts and Sanders both had rushing TD's though.

Idk. Hurts was dicing that 19th ranked pass coverage and 14th ranked pass rush up though and you all won 35-10.

19 on a Dallas team that hasn't seen a NFCCG in 27 years, they were playing out their minds. Eagles lost to the Commanders in the regular season. Sunday all that means nothing.

You are forgetting the clear upgrade at QB for us. Well for them too, but their QB just got better. We got a better QB this year.

The Cowboy fans did the samething after they destroyed the Bucs. The Bucs are not a good football team and neither are the Giants. The Giants had Richie James as their go to WR. Their whole offense is Barkley. The only reason they moved the ball so good in their WC game was because they were faciing a worst defense in the league. The Giants were 3-6-1 in their last 10 regular season games. It's like us using the Seahawks game as an example of why the Cowboys and Eagles don't stand a chance against us.
There is only 3 good teams in the NFC this season and we just beat 1 of them. The other two are facing off this Sunday in Philly. Now like I said the Eagles should be favored, They are at home and more fresh and if they win it won't shock me at all. But don't try comparing us to the Giants. It's insulting.
I don't understand how anyone with a brain would compare you to the Giants. 49ers got all pro players everywhere. This is the battle of the titans. I believe whoever wins this game will win the SB. I think the Bengals will beat the Chiefs. With that offensive line they are in big trouble.

Keep seeing the argument of we put up 19 vs Cowboys and the eagles put up more so that means Eagles are better.
Well Eagles put up 24 and 21 points against Washington. We put up 37.
It's all pointless.
It worked we won so what's the problem?

Aj Brown was huge for us. But just as big is Hassan Reddick 17 and half sacks and 5 forced fumbles. He wrecks game. Bradberry at CB been one of the best in the league. CGJ is a dawg and was leading the league in interceptions until he got injured. When he's back our secondary at a different level. He brings the energy and and fires up the defense. Jordan Davis got hurt this year earlier in the season and we started getting ran on more. We went out and got Linval and Suh. Also added Robert Quinn

Hot take shows are really trying to put it to the 49ers this week…like we suck or some s**t? Nah you're right (the media) it's not like SF hasn't lost a game since October or we aren't full of pro-bowlers. No reason to show up I guess.
same s**t a week ago with Dallas
