We are gonna need Brock in this one I have it like this

SF 34
PHI 31
Am I the only person who finds it a bit strange that literally every so called expert on tv is picking Philly in this game, while Vegas puts the line at 2.5? Not only do they all pick the Eagles, many don't even think it's close. 2.5 point spread for the home team is a pick 'em game, and I'd expect a 50/50 split on predictions. At the end of the day, Vegas is the only unbiased prognosticator, and if television continues to shape people's views of the world, Vegas is looking to clean up.
agreed, Beagle fans reppin on here is a sure sign they are sweating this game, and they should

I just love to talk football. I know this game can go either way. We been to 5 nfc championship games with Mcnabb to only go to 1 SB. Nothing to be nervous about. 2 great teams going at it.

My brother is a die hard eagles fan. He is a little nervous. I am a little nervous. Its okay to be nervous. There is a lot on the line. It should be a game for the ages. These two teams are the best in the league imo. Whoever comes out on top, I believe, will be hoisting the Lombardi in 18 days.

I'm not nervous. I'm excited because the two best teams are here and we have a road game where we can prove what Big Fred has been yapping about all year being the leagues best defense

If we really are the best defense then against this team in this stadium is where you'd prove it!

Big Fred keeps saying we're the number one defense. Well it was a great show against a great offense last week and now we're going to see and even better one. One the road! Let us prove it fellas!!!

I will be the most surprised if it is a blowout for either team. Feels like this one will go the distance and be an epic game.

If we can't run the ball then there is a possibility that we could get blown out IMO. Especially if they decide to pick on Lenoir all game.

I would say if we can't run it's always a possibility. That was our flaw in last years NFCCG although we didn't get blown out it was close.

We have a historically good run game with one of the great dual threat RBs of all time.

For a comp they rank 16th in run D. We rank 2nd. They should be a lot more worried about run game getting shut down, however Hurts off schedule presents problems if he's doing his thing.

Absolutely. The key is not to get down early and find production on first downs. And if we can, stick to the run game and wear them down by the 4Q. Play efficient and turnover free and don't shoot yourself in the foot.

Purdy's short passing game will be key to stop Eagles from keying on the run, the way they did it in the 2nd half of the Dallas playoff game.

Thing is if I were an impartial fan I would lean toward PHI in this game but as a Niner fan knowing we've won 12 straight and that we've been in three of the last four NFCCG I know how good we are and how grizzled we are in this moment and I know how excited our guys are to go and prove what they've been saying and then to prove it on the road where we're experienced more than any other team in the NFC

I ain't nervous. I'm excited for this to go down!!

You guys should check out Jonnydel's Dallas-SF breakdown. He is a longtime member here and creates one after every game and often a preview of the upcoming, and makes a thread here for each week and adds them to his YouTube channel. Great stuff and not too long.

He shows a bit of how Parsons' athleticism allowed him to make plays that aren't often made by even very good players. I am curious if you think you have a guy who can do the same. Fast, quick first step to get to a position before very agile blockers, ability to disengage, etc… and also a guy who can track with CMC or Deebo a bit.

Quinn called a truly excellent game and Dallas' D stayed very disciplined and largely mistake-free with a distinct lack of freelancing. They did just about everything right and it still wasn't enough. Can you guys match that?

No one has a Parsons, so no, the Eagles don't have one comparable to him. But we have a deeper D than Dallas with only one weakness, and that's at LB. So the Niners match up well there with Kittle, CMC and Deebo. But the Eagles comp that because they often get pressure and a ton of sacks just rushing 4, which allows more coverage help on passing downs. The Niners win if they can:
1) establish a strong run game and keep Purdy in safe situations with short to medium passes, with less than 20 pass attempts.
2) have long, sustained drives that keeps the Eagles O off the field
3) if the Niners can minimize the big plays (which is where they are vulnerable) and keep the scoring low.

Eagles win if they can:
1) establish at least a moderate run game. Doesn't need to be incredible in order for the RPO to be effective
2) hit those big plays, including Sanders' runs
3) get ahead early in order to try and get the Niners to get away from the run by the second half

Obviously there's more, but I think those things are key

Sirianni comes off super douchey . Noticed it earlier this year, but he seems to have really ramped it up

He's extremely competitive and, as an Eagles fan, I have to say I have loved alot of what he's done and the passion he has, but last week he hammed it up in front of the camera at half time. I don't like that. Celebrate afterwards in the locker room with the team. Talk up your team in interviews. But don't act sophomoric while the game is going on. It was also a bit odd because he's never done anything quite like that. He'll chirp at fans, which I think is fine as long as it's above the belt, but again, didn't love what he did in front of the camera last week.

That made me cringe. Came off as how I'd expect a Raiders coach to behave. I'm sure his players love it, but I'd be embarrassed as a fan. What was going on in that clip where he was walking away from the ref yelling "I know what the f**k I'm doing!"

Apparently the ref there told him he shouldn't be there. But he was there to get the timeout in time because they were trying to draw the Giants offsides as teams often do. So he needed to be close to the ref. Guess the ref there on the sidelines gave him some attitude. I didn't care about that reaction. The hamming it up for the camera is what bothered me, and as you said, made me cringe a bit.

It's the sort of thing that, when you're winning, isn't a huge deal. You lose, and all of a sudden people will turn on you.

Admittedly, I didn't watch much of the Eagles this year, so I just looked through their schedule and scores, but now I understand the hype even less. Biggest wins came against the Steelers, Titans, Texans and Giants. Obviously we stumbled a bit at the beginning of the season, but look at the consistent dominance on display after week 7. While we lead the league in point differential, Philly is #2. People keep saying we haven't played anyone as good as Philly, but our SOS is tougher than theirs. Better team in this game is San Francisco, but the home field advantage Philly enjoys makes this game even more of a toss up. Looks like another game where the turnover battle likely decides the game, big surprise.
