None of this means anything. You will find out when you play the game. Past stats don't always equal this game. We even have different players playing in some cases. As do they.

Wasn't it Justin Smith that said stats are for losers? Lol, it's true that you can look at all the stats and at the end of the day it's a muffed punt, or a missed field goal or even a stray battery thrown from the stands that could cost you a game lol.

I first read that as "Eagles last 8 deep passing offense" and near pooped my pants. I never would have thought that the PHI defense would give up those kind of numbers. Maybe there's something to attack there. But I think it will have to be set up by having a decent rushing attack.

The eagles deep pass coverage has truly been a tale of two halves. I too believe we are going to have to establish the run game first.

For sure turnovers and how you play on that day matters most. Not past stats. Sometimes you have some good and bad matchups with a particular team too. Just a good edge somewhere or a deficiency. That doesn't align with the season as a whole.

Without watching all their games, is it a case of PHI getting an early lead which results to them focusing on playing the pass more than the run in the second half? They rank 24th in yards per carry given up, but they have signed a few DTs midseason that may have helped their run defense towards the latter half of the year (Suh, Lindval Joseph).

Thats the weak spot to attack IMO.

That's what we should be doing. Get 200 yards and take the pressure off Purdy. Run outside if you have to and sweeps and things if that 5 man interior line is too tough.

IMO run the ball. We still need to have enough success passing the ball, which we will attack their LBs in the middle of the field.

From what I saw on film was the eagles ST coverage units aren't great. We could have a great average starting field position if Ray-Ray has a good game.

That sounds like a good plan.
i think our teams are pretty even in all stats except one an that is phillys deep pass offense. they are great at it, we are bad defending it. so it will come down to that. if they can consistently complete deep passes on our D we will probably not be able to keep up. if we can stop those deep passes just enough to keep enough points off the board, the rest of our team(run D, offense) will do enough to be better than them in that phase.

Suh doesn't worry me other than him making a blatantly dirty play. The other additions may have helped them but fortunately for us, Kyles running game has so many layers that hopefully he will find their weak spot and be able to exploit it.

I haven't watched a single Eagles game this year so I can't really say how good or great they may or may not be but, I'd like to know if they're a more penalized team than the Niners and what the majority of those penalties are.

I was a bit surprised at how the 49ers were not able to utilize CMC and Deebo in the short passing game versus DAL. I thought the 49ers had a big advantage there and would feast - they were okay, and I have to credit DAL for that. Perhaps spread the field via formation a bit versus PHI so it's not so congested and get more isolation CMC/Kittle vs LBs.

Teams have been abandoning the run early. The eagles run d over the last 8 games:

GB- 5.0 YPC
TEN- 4.1 YPC
NYG- 5.1 YPC
CHI- 5.2 YPC
DAL- 3.7 YPC
NO- 3.7 YPC
NYG- 6.1 YPC
NYG- 5.9 YPC

I will take it! I expect the game to be another close one, so any and every advantage we can get will be needed.

Giants averaged 6 per carry over those two blowouts? Wow.

The week 18 game was a 22-16 win for the eagles. So that one was not a blowout. All 3 of the giants RB's averaged 5.5 YPC or more in that game.
