With only 35 players under contract and around 14 million in cap space, we could see a lot of changes. On this topic with specific free agent status, players to resign, let go, and how many players from the draft we expect. This is a team we wanna upgrade along the margins. Making that realistic is gonna take a ton of work. Let's discuss what and how that looks like in this thread

At first glance, I see a huge need to restructure existing contracts.

One thing that is huge; we have our starting QB signed through 2024 for $900,000/yr. That leaves a lot of room to make moves to secure key players, even beef up an area or two.

In theory you're correct. But 18 roster spots and 14 million is where we stand

The team will have most of the key pieces next year, but it will definitely be a different team than this year.

Our schedule next year is going to be brutal. Definitely need to keep the band together as much as we can and hit on FA and the draft.

maybe we can each grab and analyze a position group. For example o line. Brendal, Brunskill, and mcglinchey are all UFA. Pretty sure our d line depth is a question mark as several contributors are free agents also. Ebukam, Omenihu, hurst, ridgeway, Hyder, and Willis are free agents as well.
my point is several guys we want back need to get paid. This is NOT a typical off season. To dismiss it as such is naive and arrogant.

One easy transaction that contributes to the solution we already can expect is BOSA getting his big extension and lowering his 17m cap number in year 1.
This thread is to point out the actual challenges that are exactly that, and some of the solutions to those challenges.

this isn't a concern
