I swear to God... some of the comments on here show just how s**tty some of our so called fans can be....

"Fire Kyle"
"Sign Brady or Rogers"
"Purdy is awful"

Blah blah blah....

Some of you youngsters don't know what bad times look like unless you lived through the immediate post Mariucci era... 9-23 under Dennis Erickson... 23-41 under Nolan and we were talking about teams with NO hope. And then even more recently and just prior to Kyle you had the debacles that were Chip Kelly and Jim Tomsula! I am 52 years old and my old man took me to my first ever Niner game at The Stick in 1977. We had Jim Plunkett at QB and taht team was 5-9 and the next year was even worse when went 2-14! Then we got some kid called Joe at QB... a kid taht played at a major midwest university... who was considered undersized and not particularly athletic but with good football smarts... What was his name again? Brock Purdy? No, it was of course Joe Montana but that is the same description for Purdy!

Y'all need to chill out and take stock...

We have a GREAT Coch in Kyle.
We have a fantastic GM in Lynch who isn't afraid to take chances...
We have Deebo locked up...
We have MCCaffery
We have Aiyuk
Bosa
Kittle
Greenlaw
Warner
2 young QBs on rookie contracts and will have around $30 million in cap space.

We finished teh regular season 13-4 with a THIRD STRING QB and was the top third of the leage in terms of most injured team in the NFL.. yet we still surviced.

WE JUST PLAYED IN THE DAMNED CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!

Yes, we will lose Demeco to Houston and no doubt we will lose some players, but they will also be replaced. Kyle and Lynch have shown a knack for evaluating late round draft picks so I am not worried.

We have had a GREAT season and while this one hurts, I am so proud of this team!

Ride or die.. Bang bang Niner gang baby!

This!
Thanks for the post!

Agreed! This game won't give me nightmares but reading some of those coaching names might. Erickson… the horror.
This one hurts but the Birds won the game but they did not beat us. Look at the stats. 3.8 yds per play, 268 total yds, 120 yds passing are you kidding me. Bad things happened and it snowballed from there.starting with the no catch 4th down! We were tied when Purdy went down. And we still had a chance until JJ went down!!!! We will return Just hope we are healthy for once. Anyway I feel bad for the team.$hit happens. But the Birds shouldn't be so up on themselves they are going to get their butts kicked in the SB. JMHO. Proud of the 49ers to make it to the NFCCG. Not happy how it ended!!!!!

Some of those were legit when the D was just frustrated though.

True some of it was legit and so were a lot of the penalties that weren't called on Philly!!!

f**k refs they ruin the f**kin game.

And no third option. Sorry. We basically went into the game with one QB.

The injuries to Elijah Mitchell, the domestic distraction, and other things. The penalties, the unraveling of the team...bad week overall.

We basically had one guy running the ball today...no Mason, no Davis-price, no coleman.

Well when Purdy went down, I think the whole game plan went to s**t.

On offense i totally get that. Dont know what it was with the D today. All the little ticky tack fouls and just lack of composer. Going to be an interesting offseason for this D.

I think when Purdy went down, they knew they had no shot. They just tried their best and got frustrated and didn't give a s**t anymore when they were down 2 scores.
Lol, several yrs ago..my sister called me sobbing & I was like, what's wrong? She said, Joe Montana retired. I said, I know sucks but it's been good. He is amazing. And I thought she was gettin too emotional about it. Then here is me with Purdy lol total emo. This is my Joe Montana retired moment lol. Hope he keeps on truckin'

If you are the true #1 D you always have a shot. It was a close game still when he went down. They repeatedly could not get off the field on 3rd down. And then when they did stop em on 3rd they gave it to them on 4th. Anything after mid 3rd Qtr doesnt really matter too much. But D had many ups and downs till that point

The Shanahan injury curse continues for the 49ers. In hindsight, they should have had 3 QB's on the active roster. I have never seen an NFL team incapable of throwing a forward pass in a game before due to QB injury, especially a championship game. It was embarrassing to be in that situation. They would have been better off going to the wildcat, and running more RB sweep passes. Was Josh Johnson really the best free agent OB they could sign?
Name me 1 other team that would have made it as far as the Niners after 2 starters go down and lose the 3rd in the NFCCG in the 1st quarter. I'll wait.............

The refs were responsible for 7 of their first downs which is crazy
That was a fun season. See you guys next year
That's it for the season folks! We'll try again next season to win our sixth Super Bowl but overall it was a good ride especially the shellacking of the cowboys.

And 21 points... Absolutely horribly reffed. This s**t philly team couldn't even beat a 4th string QB without help from the refs giving them the game

Glad to see the Bay Area crew says same.

Even my wife (fan by marriage) was pissed at this. What you didn't see was Purdy smile and laughing on the sidelines Other than when Kittle was trying to lighten the mood.

Jimmy says the right things but actions speak louder.

100%!
Defense held the eagles offense to 269 total yards at a rate of 3.8 yards per play. Yup. Demeco came into the game with a great game plan. They had a lot of penalties against them but those came after they realized what we already knew. There was no chance with Josh Johnson at QB. If this organization didn't have bad luck, they wouldn't have any luck at all.
