It felt like an NFL/injury version of Final Destination where we tried to "cheat" injury by having so many starting QBs on the roster, only to have them all taken out at the worst moment imaginable.

So much this.

Two weeks from now we're gonna hear how Super Bowl 57 was fixed for KC. Why didn't they call holding on KC, OMG that was pass interference why wasn't that called.

Two things, Philly is lucky the 9ers beat Dallas for them. Parson and Lawrence would've own their asses. Second, they're lucky Brock got injured. It was all downhill from there.

i have no doubt the 49ers will be back, we always do. I can't say the same for Philly.

Ran 44 for 148, 3.4 avg. Wasn't needed due to us not having a QB who could throw, which gave you field position. Pound your chest all you want, bottom line is if both teams were 100% healthy no way you ever beat us. These were your "dominant" stats. Hurts 15/25 for 121, 64.4 QBR, 15 receptions for 121, 8.1 avg. Like I said, not impressed. What is impressive is Mahomes with an ankle spain 29/43 326 yds, 2 TD's. Good luck in Super Bowl.

Yep niners average 3.6 yards per play without a QB and the Eagles averaged 3.8 per play with a QB. 3.8 total per play while healthy, playing a defense that was on the field for 2/3 of the game because they did not have a QB. It is kind of like playing baseball without a pitcher or soccer without a goalie, skier without skies.

I can't remember that ever happening. Philly feeling like Rocky Balboa when they just beat a champion with both hands tied behind his back.
How are the eagles inferior??

Last I checked their dline whipped on our oline and blocking scheme took out our qb. This is a physical game and the niners got punched in the mouth. Losing Brock was just an excuse. If the niners were superior their qb wouldn't have gotten smashed. Case closed.
Anyone else notice Nick Sirianni is also a stupid gum chomping idiot. Oh goody we now have Cheat Carol Jr. That'll be annoying as hell for years to come.

Yes, this is absolutely correct. Kyle also should have challenged the first Eagles 4th down completion to at least give the defense a chance to gather itself. 9ers need to do work on both o-line and d-line this offseason. It's like the good old days when 9ers always do what you have to in order to progress to the SB. Our window is still open.

Missed blocking assignments happen sometimes as was the case on the Purdy injury play.
The worst part is the team was out of the game after the first half, even though it was only 21-7, the lead felt insurmountable and I honestly had given up hope.

I still watched but it was as painful as painful can be. I'm still recovering. Will be for a while. I don't even want to play Madden anymore lol
The worst part of this game is how Shanahan had no backup plan if something happened to Purdy in a title game. Josh Johnson?? On top of that He wasn't even prepared in the least. Yeah, you could ask what else are they going to do? Maybe 3 qbs for a title game? I don't know. But this falls on Shanahan. I know Mitchell was hurt. But who else ran the ball except for Christian McAffrey? Shanahan ran into a buzz saw. A more physical team. As soon as Purdy went down, he gave up and had no answers. Also, the Eagles had no respect for the 49ers D. Consistenly going for it on 4th down.

Has a team ever lost 2 QBs in a championship game and won?

Has a team ever lost their starting QB during a championship game and won? I can't really think of any other than for a few short stretches.

Both of those above situations aren't even as bad as the situation we were in seeing as though we already lost 2 QBs during the season.

Saying Shanahan should be prepared for this is just absurd. There is no backup plan when you are already on your 3rd string QB.
Rooting for the Chiefs even though I can't stand them. f**k Philly

I have no doubt that Philly won't be back. But here's the thing though. Every year it's someone else's year. We hear GB in 2019. Then TB emerged in 2020. Then the Rams emerged in 2021. Then the Eagles in 2022.

I agree that that we'll be there in 2023. But who will be the up and coming juggernaut that will once again break our hearts ? Maybe Dallas takes the next step, and you know they'll be aiming for us. Minnesota might upgrade their D and become legitimate. There might be teams in our own division that will be back on track as well.

These opportunities don't come along every year. We've squandered 3 of them already. And it gets harder and harder every year.

Im not optimistic…

Yea but you'd think Shanny would do a better job of evaluating his quarterbacks. In case Brock does go down, at least have a viable number 4 that can at least hold on to the ball ! JJ didn't even look like he belonged on a football field. It was atrocious watching himzzz
bet a lot of casuals who just watch champ / super bowl were like this team sucks
