After the Jimmy Ward tackle last week on Pollard, there was a report that the league is going to look into that type of tackle this offseason. Well, after Purdy got hurt and there was a similar play on Johnson when he got the concussion, and with the league's obsession with protecting QBs, wonder if they will look at the type of play when a defender goes for the QBs arm when in motion?

Knowing this I felt there was a ton of urgency to get it done this year, as our D will have at least some level of transition that they have to work though.

Yeah, talent wise, but we aren't going to be able to keep this roster together with all the guys that are going to have to be paid.
That makes this loss so much worse. This was the year to get it done.
Reminds of the playoff game years ago at ATL when Garrison Hearst went down on the first play.
If Purdy couldn't throw (which seemed to be the case) I'd rather have gone CMC/Juice wildcat every play, at least then it's 11 on 11
We need to have a better plan in place from the beginning of the season. Clearly we need home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Maybe winning 2 games in a row in the playoffs before the Super Bowl is the best we can do. Got to get home field or this will happen again.

The way this team just completely fell apart was the most disappointing. The front office and the coaching staff better figure out that until they commit to protecting their QB 100% and commit to not allowing our OL to be beat time after time without replacing them and running schemes that allow free runners….we're going to continue to see hurt QBs over and over.

Fell Apart? How do you fall apart when you are down to your 4th QB and then lose him and then can't score because you are literally one dimensional. The defense played as best they could under the circumstances. Most team who lose their 1st QB don't even make the playoffs let alone make it to the championship game.
We would have won if Purdy doesnt get hurt. Philly is good but overated.

You mean limit our run game even more?
The worst part? We never had a chance once our qb3 went down

It was heart breaking. We lost our QB on the first drive of the game. Then, lost our backup not long after. We lost our horse in the race and our chance for #6, just a shame.

We had a chance if would could have run the ball and played defense. But, too many penalities kept their drives alive and we could never get the ball back to get back in the game.

I like you man but no way.

Josh Johnson. No way.

So many of the penalties were bailouts for them.

How the f**k was that roughing the kicker when he is thrown in. The call on Ward.

Not one holding call on their OL or one false start.

This. At some point, guys like bosa will need to get extended. And we are gonna lose some of that quality depth. I think Moseley is a FA also so we'll need a #2 CB.

I saw a few false starts on Philly

Once you're one-dimensional, you're basically done.

All Philadelphia had to do was stack the box and our run game was killed. Johnson sucks and Brock literally couldn't throw.

No team can win by playing one dimensional football. There's no way to keep a defense honest.

If you can't pass, the linebackers will play closer to the line since there's nothing to force them to back up.

That's a massive advantage for the defense.
