Who will be the next 49ers Defensive Coordinator?

Pick a candidate and why you think they'd be a good fit for the job.

One thing Saleh and Ryans had in common was their fire on gameday. Some DCs are all cerebral, opting to sit in the booth. Ryans and Saleh had a, "one of the guys" vibe. Not preferring one style over the other, just an observation. I don't know enough about the candidates in the poll to make a vote at the moment.

Undlin is my choice, keep it in the family.

whoever it is i unfortunately see the defense taking a step back next season. it wont be bad but wont be as good as it was this year due to turnover and aging. this team needs to be led by the offense moving forward
I gotta go with Undlin given his current role and how the 49ers promote within. I would've thought Fangio but with him going to Miami I am actually excited to see either one of Undlin or Bullocks get the opportunity

I want someone that will stay with a 4-3 defense and use the Wide 9 alignement. I don´t want to see the team do a transition to a 3-4 defense. They have the perfect corps of LBs to play in a 4-3 and Bosa as an outside LB is a waste.

Cory Undlin spent a number of years with Jim Schwartz while in PHI so in terms of continuing the wide9 philosophy, he'd most likely keep that going. He had one season as DC in DET and that unit sucked. I have no idea what the player talent was on that team. Probably not very good.

Don't worry, they're not going back to the 3-4.

There's a shift towards 3-4 around the league and I'd prefer the 49ers to NOT be like everyone else.
No chance of Vic Fangio?
Fangio

We´ll see but Kyle wanted Fangio when he became the HC IIRC.
I don´t want a 3-4 defense seriously. Just promote someone like Bullocks.
Who knows maybe he´s the next DeMeco?
I was surprised Kyle would choose DeMeco after Saleh and now I´m almost more broken by DeMeco leaving than the loss yesterday.
What are the chances Demeco stays put in SF?
You guys think it's 0%?

No chance, Fangio runs a 3-4.
