For what it's worth, Vic Fangio told me late last night, "Nothing has been decided on my end." There is a huge amount of mutual respect between Kyle Shanahan and Fangio, a highly successful Niners DC under Jim Harbaugh. And it appears the 49ers will have an opening soon.

Pay him whatever he wants. I'm tired of our coaches constantly getting poached and he won't go anywhere. He's very respected across the league and the players deserve a good DC.

The Texans are sentimental favorite because of them drafting Ryans and him being a great player for them but what if he suddenly realizes the Texas totally suck and decides to stay for "unfinished business" like Quinn did with Cowboys? Still holding out hope
