Let the kid play.

Then he'll have a more productive season than any 49ers QB has had since Jeff Garcia.

You can bet on the guy who has played four games in the last four years, I'll go with Brady having enough left in the tank for one last run playing for his heavily loaded childhood favorite team.

Highly doubt that, especially after what they saw happen yesterday

They sat through three QBs that just got further than Brady did with his below .500 record this year. They will be perfectly fine to do it all over again because they trust their coach. We don't need Uncle Tom to come save us at the expense of continuing to build our roster and catching PHI and staving off SEA who will be coming next year with Geno and a draft haul to be envied

I don't feel it's wise to spend $30M Brady when there are tons of other holes and the player himself isn't what he was even 2-3 years ago. Also I don't know how the ego battle would go between him and KS.

We already rejected him once reportedly. That wouldn't have sat well and Brady doesn't forget these little things.

25-30mil is way too much for Brady imo.
Were are people getting this $30M narrative the Rappaport story were he's just spouting of his opinion with nothing concrete to back it up?

Brady played for 15M this year I seriously doubt he commands double going forward.

Tell that to Tampa's 35mil dead cap hit they'll be absorbing next season if Brady plays on with another team.

That 15mil was NEW money on an existing contract where a very significant portion of it was sunk into void years.

If you think Brady is signing a one year 15mil no strings attached deal then I don't know what to tell you.

This really is an all or nothing gamble if we chose to take it because we'll still be paying Brady as we run out of rookie contract years on Trey/Purdy while losing players along the way.

Brady doesn't care about what happens after he's gone, he's doing us no favours in that regard, just himself.

Pretty sure Marathe could get even more creative than that. The money is not an issue, you're not signing Brady for a long term stint. Give him a year to try and make a run at a SB and then turn the team over to Purdy and Lance and let the best QB come out on top.

When was he playing defense? That's impressive.

I watched the game and when I saw Brady could make nothing happen at all and could get no explosives I knew the game had passed him by. Meanwhile Dak was looking as if he was driving a doggone Ferrari. Brady was atrocious that game and he was at home and the same age as me

And that's one of the reasons Leftwich got canned right after or is Brady the OC now as well?

Brady looked like a 46 yr old QB this yr.
Trey Lance would be lucky to look like a 46 yr old Brady next yr.
I don't hate the idea of Brady. With McCaffrey, Kittle and Deebo Tom would feast here but you do that and you're giving up on Lance and that's ridiculous and a decision we may regret for a decade.

We passed on Tom once before and he won a ring while we watched mediocre qb's but long term TB is in complete rebuild while we're still contending.

No he wouldn't because then we wouldn't have enough enough explosives to light my barbecue pit

49ers have built the right way already, and it hasn't worked because the QB position has been a rotation due to injuries

Time to postpone that build for one year.

Nope. PHI just beat us and put all other arguments to rest because they did the work and developed their guy. I have said it all along that if Hurts beat us we need to develop Trey and Brock just as they did. Plus we need to draft a guy and use the money to try and catch up roster wise with PHI and SEA is gonna be coming too with their draft haul. No to Brady and other vets that are as old as me with grey whiskers on their chins. Let them coach it something. Hell those guys are older than Demeco and Brady can be Kyles big brother! Dang!

That ship sailed when Lance broke his ankle. Gotta win now with this roster. Philly had the luxury of taking a mulligan on the 2021 season. That was our choice for 2022. Lance getting injured ruined that. Can't just repeat that in 2023.

Then do we think in todays game Tom is gonna beat PHI and Mahomes? After we can't put guys and extend guys I'd think not and then after falling short we're left to pick up the pieces like so many other broken and busted teams littering the league. We just need to do the hard work PHI did.

And if Lance flops, then what? Imagine wasting possibly the final year with a completely loaded offense on a project QB from the FCS that hasn't played more than three or four games total in four years.

The stakes are high, whether people want to accept that or not. Next year is not a rebuilding year. I doubt that guys like Trent Williams, McCaffrey, Kittle, Warner, Deebo or Mooney Ward would be cool with a season of putting the training wheels on for an inexperienced passer.

There's no guarantee that they get a veteran passer like Brady, but they should make every attempt to do so.

IMO this year they were OK with the training wheels because they knew next year could be legendary.

And those guys can't get upset if we do get him and still fall short, at least they'll know the team tried everything

Agree. If we weren't in a position to potentially pick right up next year where we left off I wouldn't be excited about the long-term consequences of paying Brady at all (just like I wasn't a few years ago). Situation changed.

Yes.

Get ready because we're going to and as I said when PHI beat us it just proved my point. Kyle wants a superstar QB because we keep getting beaten by them no matter how much he schemes and how good our defenses are. Mahomes shredded us in under five minutes. Hurts just embarrassed presided over an embarrassing loss this past week as he and his team gloated in our faces

Enough

Time for us to put in this work!
