What do we do now at QB?

Plus, we really shouldn't be rushing Purdy back from this injury. He honestly should probably be given the year to just recover and gain mental reps.

Not saying signing Brady guarantees that but it is probably the closest we can get to a guarantee of winning #6. Tired of falling short.

If Brady decides to come back for one more year, for what reason? It isn't for the money because he could make so much more in the booth. It's for his legacy and winning another ship. What other Super Bowl contender, besides the Niners, upgrades by signing Tom Brady under center? Answer - no one. And this isn't even factoring in the hometown ties. Brady to Niners is going to happen, it just makes too much sense on so many levels.
Colin Cowherd just said that he heard from an executive that the Niners will trade Lance and sign Brady.
makes a ton of sense and is the correct move
We need 3 Qb's, so why not keep them all.

Yeah.
I hope that the goat ends the curse and passes the torch to Purdy.

This is an NFL executive's prediction, not something he heard from the 49ers. I could predict that.

Sign Brady for $10, one year. If not, then he can go retire with LVR while getting stomped on by Mahomes. How's that for ending his legacy?
Brady, Brock, Trey. That's a nice QB room for 2023 and neither of the two youngsters should feel slighted by being behind Brady.

Yes.
We will know much more about Purdy's condition by March 15 (the beginning of FA signings). As of now, the 49ers have only one healthy QB to begin OTAs and beyond. Signing Brady early makes a ton of sense as it assures the 49ers have a quality starter to go along with one healthy young backup. It also allows the 49ers to take their time with Purdy to make sure he is fully healthy before putting him on the field again.
I can't see Shanahan passing on a chance to sign Brady given the fact we won't know for sure that Purdy will be able to play this season until August at the earliest. To enter the season with only an unproven Lance and whatever FA they can sign is a foolish place to be.

What's shanny gonna do to him? Shanny is a micromanager. Who do people think is gonna win that tug of war? BRADY WILL. And shanny would never tolerate that.
That is actually a good point. I remember one of the players (Kittle, I think) talking about Brock, and how he called a time out during a game - which was shocking because "only coach calls the time outs".

We sign Brady yet?
I also don't give a s**t about legacy. Remember how some of us wanted to keep Alex over Manning for that reason too? Yeah, I don't think the Broncos were sad about getting a lombardi.

I don't think Kyle even wants Brady, he has everything he wants in Purdy; a guy who can run his system. Purdy will be fine to start next season. Look what he did this year with minimal development. Brady is too slow, old and expensive. This organization won't whore itself out for #6. They want sustained success. Kyle wants his QB to grow and develop with these receivers in his system. Signing Brady would put a pause in all of this. Kyle won't go backwards. You sign Brady and fail to win it all, that will kill the franchise. He has everything he wants in Purdy and Brock will be ok.

That's what I was thinking too. Keep the kids and let them sit while TB help us push us over the top. Nice to have 2 maybe 3 bonafide starters in case one gets hurt on the number of ways we lose them. TB will only play a year maybe 2 and perfect time to have 1 of the kids to take over. If not TB, who? I'd like a capable vet to add to the 2.
