What do we do now at QB?

The answer is simple enough in theory. If the coaches are confident Purdy will be healthy by training camp, you stay put. If there is any doubt whatsoever about his health, you grab Tom Brady.
Who knows if Brady would even be interested lol he doesn't like the 9ers anymore. I see him going to Vegas more than SF. I am not really on the Brady train, this sure is a bit of a cluster cluck atm
Gotta see what trey can do. Or sign Brady. No mediocre qbs. But WHOEVER IT IS, THEY NEED TO UPGRADE THE OLINE
I think Trey getting a full off-season in helps his development. If brock gets healthy and beats him out, so be it. With Purdy hurt you look at other opportunities doing your DD. That's all

I disagree. If we're interested in Brady, he's coming here. I just don't think we will be.

Brady is not going to be cheap so we won't sign him. We are not going to shell out 30M.

We won't. And he won't ask for 30M. I bet he's willing to come in the 20-22M range on a two year rental. That gives plenty of time to win one or two rings then hands the reigns to Brock.

What makes you think that? He wouldn't take less than 30 from TB and I just read something the other day that he will want the same or close from us. No home town discount. So what info do you have beyond hope?

That depends upon the type of surgery he gets. We still dont know. My bet is Purdy could wind up missing all of next season, especially if he opts for the full Tommy John rebuild.

Not sold on Brady. Garoppolo or Derek Carr are better options, imo

Someone mentioned his investment losses from the crypto currency FTX fiasco and how he's being sued. That makes me think any discount is a nope.

If Brady decides to come back for one more year, for what reason? It isn't for the money because he could make so much more in the booth. It's for his legacy and winning another ship. What other Super Bowl contender, besides the Niners, upgrades by signing Tom Brady under center? Answer - no one. And this isn't even factoring in the hometown ties. Brady to Niners is going to happen, it just makes too much sense on so many levels.

Colin Cowherd just said that he heard from an executive that the Niners will trade Lance and sign Brady.

lol colin cowherd lol
What do you mean what should we do at quarterback? Answer its #13 unless otherwise😉
let's get aaron rodgers somehow! he's the only one that wanted to play for us. maybe he'll re-do his whole contract. brady hates us!

He played for 15m last year. Why would he ask for double to come here and have to do less? Me thinks the 12-15 m price tag is worth a chance to win it all

At the time he signed that $15 contract (March 2022), FTX was fine. It was in November that it all went down. Maybe it's all a non-factor. idk.

There's also the optics of acquiring Brady and how that affects the veterans on the team. To see the front office go out and make an impactful change can invigorate a locker room that is understandably bummed out by what just transpired. To go into 2023 with a vet leader at QB can give a sense of freshness to the season - that, "this year is different". The only hesitancy I have with Brady is how much $ he will command. He needs to understand that the 49ers are strapped for cash and that he will need to take a (literally) hometown discount to make it work.
That's a good point and that would resonate to the team that the front office is not f'n around. Hopefully Brady will not be asking too much this time.

Yup. That "All in" feeling. The 49ers have no more picks to trade (no valuable picks), so the next best thing is to sign an impactful free agent. The other question is how far can Brady throw? Damn he's old. The last time the 49ers entertained the idea of Brady, they watched all his 2019 throws and thought he was done. I don't see how watching all his 2022 throws is going to make SF coaches feel better. Although I admit that the two full games I watched of the Bucs this season were when they got waxed by SF and DAL.

Did fine vs Carolina when he aired it out to Evan's 3 times for TDs to put a dagger in Carolina. Lucky for him Kyle's offense is less about air yards. He just needs to make the quick reads put it in his playmakers hands and let them do all the work. It's the best situation for a 45 year old quarterback…
