I guess that's a no on Brady. Go with Lance and purdy and grab a solid backup vet that has actual winning experience.

I'd rather go with Lance and Purdy and draft a QB in the later rounds. Way cheaper going that route then signing a vet QB. Plus you can develop the guy to be a long time backup to Purdy or Lance, whoever wins that's QB battle.

Are we sure he´s gonna retire this time?
Let´s say, Kyle calls him, I don´t think Tom would refuse playing for the Niners.
MJ came back twice, why not Tom after all?

Time to focus on Lance and improve the trenches. Purdy will be back to at some point and we will have 2 young QBs with enormous potential.
LETS GO

Yes!
How did people think going ancient at QB would solve the QB-injuries problem? Truly bizarre!

Well I think we will look back at this era one day and think about all the reasons this era couldn't produce a Super Bowl. With Trey Lance being the starting QB and looking to learn on the job, Super Bowl window is closed this go around. Purdy's injury will be talked about for years on it being over for this group of veteran core players. Team needs home field throughout which means having the best record. It will be hard to get that with our QB situation if Purdy isn't the opening day starter and not the same guy we saw before the injury.
On the positive note, we get to see what Lynch and Shanahan do in free agency and trades. Going to need to come up with their best plan ever. Should be fun to watch.

Why? Let the young kid play man. Tom ain't Tom anymore. Our OL isn't gonna do any favors for him…use whatever cash you would have spent on Tommy and build back the trenches

Right and with our OL? Tommy from a couple years ago isn't Tommy we saw this yr imo. Shell of himself, that OL was all banged up and didn't help a 46 yr old QB.

Who says he's done? He's 23, even if he misses some or most of next season he's still very much going to figure into this team's plans into the future.
You think the ShannaLynch thing goes much past next season? Where will he get a roster this good or battle his way to being starter long term? I hope he can but the odds are stacked very high after that kind of injury. You may know football way better than I but what I do know there are very few chances given in the NFL. As an example (maybe a poor one) Jimmy G had a very similar start but nobody wanted to pay for him at the beginning of this season.

I didn't think it was realistic. We didn't have the assets to sign him and give him the pieces he needed on the oline.

He's gonna be ready from training camp reportedly. One thing you should know is when a QB plays well even if it's for a short amount of time, he's gonna get chances after the fact. Good QB is hard to find.
no one was trading AND paying Jimmy that salary coming off a shoulder injury. His ass would have been signed if he was a FA.
