Yes!

How did people think going ancient at QB would solve the QB-injuries problem? Truly bizarre!

I didn't think it was realistic. We didn't have the assets to sign him and give him the pieces he needed on the oline.

Here's his last throw

Well Brady has played every games he could possibly play since his ACL injury 14 years ago. The guy is never injured.
Besides Brady takes no b******t so he would have the balls to say to Kyle that he just wants to play shotgun and that´s it.
But he´s retiring and even if he wanted to play for the Niners, could they pay him? He wouldn´t come cheap. And the Niners have so many holes to fill this offseason.

I wanted to go with Brock/Trey/a rookie QB and stack the roster around them but it´s hard to deny that with Tom Brady and this roster, you were a Superbowl Contender. I prefer giving the reps to Brock next season, I didn´t want him to sit on the bench for one year even behind the 2nd best player ever. That being said the floor with Tom was extremely high with this team. Who knows how Brock will come back from his injury? Will Kyle use Trey in a more normal offense? Was Brock´s rookie season his normal level or just a fairytale? Lot of questions you don´t have with Brady. And I say that as someone that wasn´t super huge about signing Brady.

Still I´m really surprised to see him announce his retirement so "soon". Did he already talk with Kyle? Or is he just tired of all this b******t?
Welp Brady is out.....
Happy Trails Brady, helluva career. Im glad that part of the speculation on what we will do is over
QB guaranteed to be a problem next season. No slam dunk options available. Another season on the roller coaster. Glad I'm a fan of roller coasters and the Niners regardless.

It never made sense. It was mostly coming from ppl who don't like Lance for whatever reason. They didn't want Lance in the draft - they didn't want Lance starting in his rookie year - they didn't want Lance starting last year and they don't want Lance this year. It's really weird but Niners need to fully get behind their two young QBs.

SF made it to the NFCC with 4 different QBs this yr. It's not any more a problem than last yr.

Hope you're not looking at me, I said this past season that I expected them to move on from Jimmy and go with Trey Lance. As for his rookie season, the plan was always to sit Trey Lance for a season. And now I fully expect them to go with Trey Lance IF Purdy isn't healthy. Did I want Tom Brady, sure, but I was pretty confident it wouldn't happen. And now that he's retired looks like I was right.

But you questioning people who don't like Trey Lance for whatever reason, I don't understand people who do like Lance for whatever reason. He does absolutely nothing special. Brock Purdy is a far better QB than Lance and he should be given the keys to the 49ers offense along with a multi million dollar contract.
Welp. Guess now I can look forward to all those bounced 8 yard passes to the WR feet from Lance. I guess I was silly to think a good QB would work here.

I don't understand folks who don't like Trey. Nobody, and probably even Kyle, knows what we have in Trey. I can see a bit of Steve Young in him, but clearly ShanaLynch has to do as good a job in developing Trey as they did Purdy. We have a bright future as 49er fans with those two talented QBs on the roster. As for Jimmy, I would consider him elite, but for his durability issues and lack of mobility. You have to have a mobile QB in this day and age of a pass happy NFL. The defenses of today feast on immobile QBs.

Lol. Never made sense?? That 'ancient' Qb hasn't missed a game (to my knowledge) since his ACL tear back when you were in 4th grade. He only set an NFL record for pass attempts and completions - LAST MONTH. I love how people are just so excited to hand over a win now franchise to question mark qb's. How many franchises would be salivating over the fact they only had ONE hole to fill. See the Rams last year or Idk, how about when Elway brought in Manning? Seemed to work out for those franchises.

Considering the fact that the only one that may be left standing looks to still be a project it might be a small problem but it is what it is let's go Trey.
