SF made it to the NFCC with 4 different QBs this yr. It's not any more a problem than last yr.

Lol. Never made sense?? That 'ancient' Qb hasn't missed a game (to my knowledge) since his ACL tear back when you were in 4th grade. He only set an NFL record for pass attempts and completions - LAST MONTH. I love how people are just so excited to hand over a win now franchise to question mark qb's. How many franchises would be salivating over the fact they only had ONE hole to fill. See the Rams last year or Idk, how about when Elway brought in Manning? Seemed to work out for those franchises.

Hope you're not looking at me, I said this past season that I expected them to move on from Jimmy and go with Trey Lance. As for his rookie season, the plan was always to sit Trey Lance for a season. And now I fully expect them to go with Trey Lance IF Purdy isn't healthy. Did I want Tom Brady, sure, but I was pretty confident it wouldn't happen. And now that he's retired looks like I was right.

But you questioning people who don't like Trey Lance for whatever reason, I don't understand people who do like Lance for whatever reason. He does absolutely nothing special. Brock Purdy is a far better QB than Lance and he should be given the keys to the 49ers offense along with a multi million dollar contract.

Not looking at any specific ppl. That's the general sentiment. There are ppl who never liked Lance and they don't want to give him a real chance.

I like Lance for several reasons - I've gone over them many times since we moved up to 3rd spot in 21 draft. I'm questioning ppl who never liked Lance bc once Shanahan drafted him - they should at least want to see what Kyle saw in him but they don't even want to do that.

And I'm more than happy with Purdy. All I want is 49ers to have a real franchise QB and not bunch of mediocre QBs we have had since Young was forced to retire. I think Lance can be that (and also Purdy) if given a real chance to succeed.

-trade for Rodgers
-if not resign Jimmy to keep Brock's seat warm
-sign a veteran backup
-draft a rookie QB
-Ran vs Demeco bidding war to move Lunch Trey

This is what people are calling out…you have NO IDEA what he is or isn't…to make a claim like that. None.

I'll go as far to say, that he actually can and has made throws that neither Brock or Jimmy are capable of making. That isn't the only thing that matters, but overall it's fake news to say otherwise (that he doesn't have any special traits).

and sorry but you have absolutely crapped on Lance since he was picked. You gave him no room to develop. Ya'll set him up for failure (in your mind). He can't play because he's raw. So when he does play and isn't Mahomes day 1, you've labeled him a bust. If people can't see the nonsense in that thought process, then it was never about lance and more about ya'll being upset they want to replace Jimmy.

Trent Williams throwing around retirement does give me the sense that he doesn't want to ride into the season with Trey Lance as QB. I'm with you, I think a move needs to be made but, the only other QB that is probably available is Aaron Rodgers and I don't think he leaves Green Bay. And the 49ers don't have the ammo to make a move for Aaron Rodgers either. There really isn't anyone else out there that could come right in and pick up where Garoppolo/Purdy left off. My hope is that Purdy is healthy by training camp.

Wrong. They had a starter all through camp. QB1. The offense was built for him. Jimmy played catch on the sideline all off season. Jimmy came in…got hurt…again. Then a dude who by all regards was not good all though camp, played well on a great roster with a stud coaching staff. He gets hurt and we're playing with Josh Jonson in the NFCC.

What a b******t take. Why didn't Trent retire this yr when he KNEW and supported Lance as the starter?

Need a 3rd QB that has experience playing in some big games. Can't have this stuff happen again basically killing our season. Problem is there are so many QB openings in league

It's the same couple "fans" that know absolutely nothing about the QB position & about QB development…it's mostly the Jimmy truthers that got all butthurt that the team was moving on from Jimmy.

They were all offended that fans, after letting Jimmy have YEARS to improve, finally started criticizing him and said it was time to move on…they gave Lance a little over 4QRs as the starter to make their opinions. Some didn't even allow that.
