I think we are somehow being made to pay in the 2000's for our dominance of the 1980s an 1990s. Hopefully we have paid enough by now.

Yorks stole the team from Eddie if you're looking for the source.

I mean it has to be something. A Levi's curse? Ownership curse? Leaving SF curse? Something is not right here. There has to be an explanation.
Well we're f**ked now. Brady was the only quick fix, and the other two we have are big question marks. Trent is probably going to retire too with this news.
No!!!!!!!! Say it isn't so Tom!
Alright plan B for a vet to go with Lance/Purdy-

old man Tannehil
Josh Rosen- "there were 9 mistakes ahead of me" revenge
CJ Beat hard- the sequel

Nah there's no such thing as curses and all that. As Yoda said You either do or don't do...there is no try. Something like that. We just failed to capitalize in the big moments in the 2000's
anyone who was getting their hopes up for a guy who is old enough that he needs regular prostate and colon exams to play qb for us next year was fooling themselves

Get over it.

Trent is getting to mid-30s now. To play at his level is draining. I'm sure it's hard to go the length a couple years in a row. Maybe he sees Mike leaving and the line taking a growth hit. Maybe he's concerned about a number of things. None of it Trey.

Joe S similar. Some injuries but the grind was enough for him to walk away.

It's a ridiculous comment that has nothing of substance to back it up…he should have retired this yr if that was the case.

like he said (and you) dude is in his mid-30s and just got done two back-to-back NFCC s**t is grueling. I highly doubt he retires.
Tom retiring again

And too blind to see he needs a clean pocket and 45 seconds to progress his reads. He was done. Cooked. He isn't an Android where he can play forever. You think Jimmy needed a perfect surroundings to win. Tom became Jimmy 2.0. Everything needed to be perfect. Difference being, Tom due to age. Bless you brother. Jimmy skills.

We have our QBs. You better hope every pick we have is on the OL. It's time to prepare for Trent even if not this year. And the other OL holes as well.
I'm so glad Brady retired. Ends that conversation. 4 years ago, sure. Current day brady- hard pass.
Purdy, Lance and whatever lynch-shanny surprise us with for 2023!

JG makes sense with TB off the table.. that would give TL and JG offseason while BP recovers

Resign Jimmy G. We all know this is where this is going.

We don't know when Brock will be ready. You guys would get laughed out of any NFL building with this Lance > Brady talk. Brady at 55 would probably better at the position than what Lance has shown
Who is out there? Aaron, Lamar, Derek, JummyG?

Only fans on a 49er discussion forum. I prey the first day of free agency he signs somewhere so this chapter closes as well.

What else makes sense? Trent doesn't look done physically to me (like at all). If he felt he had a legit shot at a championship next year I don't think he'd be contemplating retirement. There's something that makes him feel like there's no chance. What is it?
