Lets Go Lance & Purdy!!!!

Yes!

How did people think going ancient at QB would solve the QB-injuries problem? Truly bizarre!

It never made sense. It was mostly coming from ppl who don't like Lance for whatever reason. They didn't want Lance in the draft - they didn't want Lance starting in his rookie year - they didn't want Lance starting last year and they don't want Lance this year. It's really weird but Niners need to fully get behind their two young QBs.

Hope you're not looking at me, I said this past season that I expected them to move on from Jimmy and go with Trey Lance. As for his rookie season, the plan was always to sit Trey Lance for a season. And now I fully expect them to go with Trey Lance IF Purdy isn't healthy. Did I want Tom Brady, sure, but I was pretty confident it wouldn't happen. And now that he's retired looks like I was right.

But you questioning people who don't like Trey Lance for whatever reason, I don't understand people who do like Lance for whatever reason. He does absolutely nothing special. Brock Purdy is a far better QB than Lance and he should be given the keys to the 49ers offense along with a multi million dollar contract.

4ML didn't even mention any names and you got defensive for no reason.

Why I said "hope you're not looking at me".

Roll with Trey until Brock is ready or stick with Trey (for 2023) if he has made the appropriate improvements.

I like Suds and keeping him around in some capacity may have helped last season. Not sure how we would have swung 4 QBs but in any event. Realistic move I could see us making. He has starter potential.

Would be nice to have him back. I'd feel comfortable with him as our QB2 next year. Brock, Trey and Nate. Not a bad QB room. And just let the best man win.

Hes fine as long as you accept that your season is over if he ever has to play. He's in that Josh Johnson category of "nice practice QB."

I can see that being the overall feeling of dread for a lot of teams. No one wants to have their QB2 or QB3 come in and play. But I'm sure there were a lot of people who thought "well, damn…our season is over now that this Brock kid has to play". But then…BOOM! Magic time!

Oh come on mate. Suds has starter potential. He's 10x Johnson. Look at the preseason dimes.

We can't afford him lmao. I know paragraph is great. But 16 million minus bosa, ward aiyuk, and oline help: pockets are too thin
I like Jake Haener a lot, he's a tough SOB, has a knack for off schedule plays, slippery in the pocket
not sure what his draft grade is, but my guess he is in play in the 3rd round

My issue with your post is what I bolded. He has played extended snaps in 5 games in his career. He played better in those 5 games than Trevor Lawrence did in his first 5 games. He played better in those 5 games than Peyton Manning did in his first 5 games. Yet somehow, you already can make definitive statements about him already, and not see how illogical that is.

Different circumstances and next you're gonna tell me it only rained when the 9ers were on offense vs Chicago. Oh and you still didn't answer what you highlighted in bold.
the "small sample size" and "needs more reps" to explain the mediocre play of Lance is just covering for him with excuses, we know what we have with this dude and it ain't that good... Brock didn't get any 1st team reps ever and was productive from his first snap.

Not to get sidetracked but I watched rook Peyton he was awesome. They asked a ton he was the O and he was chucking. He improved dramatically month to month, to the point that by season's end he was an FQB, HOF caliber dude. Basically from every mistake, he learned got way better, exactly what you want. Course Colts earned the #1 overall by right, and sucked. Total opposite team dynamic, everything. Also rook Lawrence with maybe the worst NFL HC of all time, let's not draw conclusions from that. Can't knock how Lawrence played on a clown car team.

We send Trey Lance to Houston for their 2nd overall pick, 3rd round, QB Mills and 2024 First Rounder.

We then send the 2nd overall pick to Green Bay along with Javon " The Big Waist" Kinlaw , Dre " Penalty " Greenlaw ..

Then we get Aaron, and the Houston's 3rd round, QB Mills (to backup Aaron) and 2024 First Rounder..

We let Purdy sit out the 23 season and draft Georgia's Bennet w/one of our 5th round picks.

I stopped reading at you thinking we'd get the #2 overall, PLUS another 1st and 3rd round pick, and a player for Lance....

No but he did have 4 years of starts in FBS football. He played against some good competition. Trey had one season in FCS. Huge difference.
