Trey time.

Lance will be healed up by training camp. Also looking like Purdy probably will be too (looking at 6 months at present)

Jimmy is obviously gone, as he is a free agent. This is Trey Lance's opportunity to take back the starting position and show us what he's got. Purdy can be the backup to take time and recover. Bring in another vet as a 3rd QB. Stay away from Brady or Rodgers. We have money to better spend elsewhere.

It will be somewhere between $1M and $30M.

If the ring is so important take the 1M
Times like these I am glad we have a Stanford educated gold jacket wearing HOFer making the biz decisions. This guy walked on the field as a DB vs Tim Brown and Jerry Rice and walked off a world champion. He turns down $15m tech jobs to bring us #6. He is an honorary member of the Ring of Pirates in Tampa. In good hands, folks.

If you bring in another QB other than to be your back up, then its just time to cut your losses and trade Trey Lance. Seriously this is the time to finally find out if he has it or not. The team is pretty much in top shape, it will be three seasons with the same playbook and no Jimmy or Purdy to look over your shoulder. Put up or STFU!!!

That sounds good and all, the problem is; we can't take a chance on Purdy being fully healed in 6 months. He may not be fully healed until well into the season. We can't take that chance. We also can't take a chance on a QB that hasn't played more than 6 games in four years.

Rodgers is out of the picture. Brady is a reasonable solution for one year and buys us time for the QB room to get fully healthy.

This injury might only be 6 months. People need to breathe here. Could still get a preseason game or 2 in if things go well. He's young so that should help this recovery.

If he needs the reconstructive surgery, then it's panic time.

It could also be the end of his career. Nick Mullens for example was never the same. Brock is young, hopefully that helps him a little, but a good approach would be to prepare for the worst but hope for the best.

You can't take a chance on starting a QB that we traded 3 first round picks for? What?

If we have a down year next season, the following year we have a million picks including our first rounder.

We need to see what Trey has, I don't think he will be as bad as people believe.

It´s not that much harder than the one this year.
I mean before the season, the NFC West was stacked and the AFC West was the most QB heavy division in Football.
You never know until you play the games.
But I agree with you on the Brady part. He´s the one that gives you the highest floor by far. I prefer going with Trey until Brock comes back and stacked the roster around them. But Brady is the ultimate security blanket.
i have no idea really.
hope that Purdy is ready to go by training camp ?
Ive seen enough of Purdy to feel comfortable going forth with him. the game plan compliments his abilities very well. Ive also seen enough of Trey to know that his style does not. All they do is run him which will lead to him getting hurt again, and again.

Or swing for the fences and bring Aaron Rodgers here. i can only imagine what this team could be by putting him in at QB

Agree. The Brady thing feels like desperation (understandably so tbf) but people are hoping against hope our cap guys are going to magically talk Brady into a home town discount.

Just don't see it happening myself, but I've been wrong before so.....*shrugs*

He did. He got hurt. I mean that has been the narrative this season.

Ya so a health Lance starts in 2023 unless Purdy miraculously is ready for training camp.

You have to remember that Shany"s plan at QB was Trey QB1 and Purdy....a 7th rd rookie. I dont think Shany had a crystal ball when ot came to how good Purdy would be but he clearly had confidence in Trey.
His play calling begs to differ.

Brady could barely play this year. What would happen if we put him behind this pass protection scheme?

If throwing for 4,700 yards and 25 TD's is "barely playing." Sign me up. Brady also managed to survive just fine behind a subpar OL and with no run game to speak of.

not sure what you mean by barely play.. he actually set the NFL record for pass attempts.. which is a lot of playing and throwing.. if you mean barely play well that's another topic.

Yes, that's what I mean. He looked really off in the game we played against him and in the Wildcard game vs the Cowboys.
