Rams also needed luck, every team needs luck. Brady doesn't guarantee anything. It's a one shot deal and if you miss you're facing a lot of headaches.

It's not about "saving capspace" it's about keeping the team as a whole stronger for longer.

I'd rather have multiple chances with Brock and/or Trey than one shot in the dark with Brady.

Get him for 10 or so mil, sure.....but I don't believe we're getting him for as big a discount as some are hoping.

Its about giving yourself as many options as possible. With the talent on this roster, if you were to make a one year run to try and win a SB, are you more confident with Brady or Lance? Or Brady and Lance in case another QB injury hits.

If Purdy has to undergo a complete reconstruction, he's out of the picture for next season pretty much so yeah, I'm far more confident bringing in Brady, loading up at OL and DL in the draft over rolling it all on Lance and whatever mediocre veteran QB the teams brought in to save capspace.

The cap stuff, let Marathe and Co figure all that out.

Except with Trey and Purdy it isn't just a one and done shot so not really worried about that comparison.

You can keep saying "saving capspace" all you want, but for me it's not about that, it's about allocating it across the team. Multiple investments rather than one boom or bust attempt.

Brady won't take a 10-15mil one year no strings attached contract. If he does and I'm wrong I'll put my hand up, but I'll believe it when I see it.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Brady play for around 15 million this past season?

Lance will be healed up by training camp. Also looking like Purdy probably will be too (looking at 6 months at present)

Jimmy is obviously gone, as he is a free agent. This is Trey Lance's opportunity to take back the starting position and show us what he's got. Purdy can be the backup to take time and recover. Bring in another vet as a 3rd QB. Stay away from Brady or Rodgers. We have money to better spend elsewhere.

This is how I feel as well. Let Purdy get fully healthy and start Trey. It will be his chance to show what he's capable of. He will get at least a handful of games to do that, and if he can show that then we stick with him. If not, once Purdy is fully healthy start him.

You can't take a chance on starting a QB that we traded 3 first round picks for? What?

If we have a down year next season, the following year we have a million picks including our first rounder.

We need to see what Trey has, I don't think he will be as bad as people believe.

If he has a down year then you just wasted an entire season of a stacked roster on a bad investment. If he gets injured, then you just wasted an entire season of a stacked roster. Next season might be the last where you can throw Deebo, Kittle, McCaffrey abd Aiyuk all together out on the field at the same time.

If your Option A is a guy who has barely thrown a football in four years, you might want a better Option A or at least a really strong Option B.

And the Mississippi Thief is only 1 inch taller than Purdy and similar in weight (220)

This isn't just on Kyle, although he's more prone than most coaches having his QB get hurt.... but also on the league. Players ain't built the same. Not saying everyone has to be Brent Farvra.

And yes yes I'm sure Brett probably played through a concussion or two in that streak...that wouldn't happen today.

If Purdy can't make a comeback with his arm strength, he'd serve well as Trey's primary permanent backup.

If Purdy has to get a full reconstruction, he's not playing any meaningful snaps next season. That would be at least 7-8 months recovery and that's just to get healthy enough to start basic throwing and not jumping into game ready mode.

If throwing for 4,700 yards and 25 TD's is "barely playing." Sign me up. Brady also managed to survive just fine behind a subpar OL and with no run game to speak of.

He threw the ball SEVEN HUNDRED AND THIRTY THREE times!

12 month recovery, Phoenix.

Thats what happens when you don't have a run game. See the 1995 49ers for more on that.

I mentioned this above I was trying to clarify if he meant his game wasn't up to par.. I don't get it.

To me what they did with TB12 was a fireable offense.. dude shouldn't be tossing his age in passes every game. Here we could cut his 50 per game in half.

Yet he missed receivers when it counted in a playoff game and when it counted playing the 49ers at Levi's. Don't get your hopes up only to get the same result next post season, that's all I'm saying.
brace yourselves for the return of CJ Beathard to back up Trey while Brock is on the mend.

At least Brady is FA and would be interested obviously by the Niners.
Imagine if he wasn´t FA or the Niners were just a team in re-build mode like the Falcons for example.

12 is the max, it could be a lot less than that but still long enough to where you can pretty much write off 2023 for him.

If the idea is to start Lance and if he sucks or gets hurts again then Purdy is going to come in to save the day, that most likely isn't happening.

Brady will cost too much, stay with Trey and Brock and get rid of Johnson.
