Haven't you been paying attention, SanFran? Fangio's 3-4 is not a fit for our defensive personnel.
I haven't kept up, did we decline Vic ?

Another 2nd place trophy. Amirite? LOL
you can't get second if you don't dance

Bwahaha. Good one!
My best guess at who will be the next DC based upon moves made by Kyle and John in the past. These are in no particular order:

Daniel Bullocks
Current position: Safeties Coach. Bullocks is in his sixth season with the 49ers and fourth as the team's safeties coach. He spent the previous two seasons (2017-18) as the 49ers assistant defensive backs coach.

Johnny Holland
Current position: Linebackers Coach. Holland is in his sixth season with the 49ers and third as the team's linebackers coach. He previously served as the team's linebackers coach in 2017. Holland served as the 49ers run game specialist/outside linebackers coach from 2018-20.

Darryl Tapp
Current position: Assistant Defensive Line Coach. Tapp is in his second season as the 49ers assistant defensive line coach. He joined the 49ers after spending the 2020 season as the co-defensive line coach at Virginia Tech.

Probably, our best bet to keep it in house.

And we lost Fangio. Great. Been setting it up all year for him to eventually take over, only to see him walk. Christ, who woulda thought one week ago that we were about to fall off the deep end starting Sunday.

No quarterback.
No D coach.
No f**king clue.

He shouldn't even be in the mix, personally.

He's know's our personnel, that gives him a head start, JMO.

I like this go internal with someone who knows what he have been doing last couple years.. maintain our approach.. should have been grooming for the Ryans HC move which we all knew was coming. the good kind of grooming I mean

If you heard what Kyle said yesterday, he wants to keep the same system in place. I imagine Vic probably wants to run his own system, so that and probably money played a factor in his decision. I don't think we blew anything here.

Knowing the personnel and knowing how to navigate them into a #1 defense is another thing.

That's great if we can find the 4-3 equivalent to Fangio.

How do you know he can't navigate them?

He can't even navigate Kinlaw to stay low and upright.
