Who will be the next 49ers Defensive Coordinator?

When Saleh left, it was clear that Ryans was next man up. This time around I don't get the feeling that they're as excited about the people already inside the building. Just as you can be a really good coordinator but not a strong HC prospect, you can be a very good position coach without being a strong coordinator prospect.

You can know the system and know the players but playcalling is an art and not everyone is cut out for it.

No quarterback.
No D coach.
No f**king clue.

You ok?

He's in a bad mood today. Step lightly.
Like all old dick's, the big dick went to Miami. Who's next?

They are considering Kocurek per Josina Anderson

Probably, our best bet to keep it in house.

He shouldn't even be in the mix, personally.

He's know's our personnel, that gives him a head start, JMO.

Knowing the personnel and knowing how to navigate them into a #1 defense is another thing.

How do you know he can't navigate them?

He can't even navigate Kinlaw to stay low and upright.

Know one can.

"I love our defensive staff. I love our defense. I'm trying to get something where we don't have to turn much over. I would love to keep our same staff, so I'm going to talk to some guys on our staff. I'm going to talk to some guys outside of our staff, and hopefully, whichever way we decide to go, whether we bring in a new guy or not, that it's someone who can work with who we have and what we've accomplished here because I love the scheme that we run."

Any college dark horses out there?
It's going to be interesting if they bring in someone from the outside because Kyle and the staff are going to have to essentially teach them the defense since this scheme is unique to SF.

If they promote Kocurek, you eliminate that.

Fangio was just too far removed from what the 49ers are now. Asking an old dog to learn new tricks to come here was not going to happen.

It's likely bs seeing as Kris Kocurek has said multiple times that he doesn't want to be a DC.

Kocurek connects with his players in part because they know he has no aspirations to be a head coach or a coordinator. His passion is the trenches

Disappointing if true. We'll see what happens, maybe a bump in money will make him change his tune.

No big loss, Fangio is a bad scheme fit.

What do you mean if true? Do you think that's CGI/deep fake Kris Kocurek in the video interview or something?

Kocurek has to be the highest paid DL coach. I don't think he's worried about money.
