This still

Makes no sense. They could trade a 7th for a kicker easily.

Not at this point in the season. If that were to happen, whatever team we traded to would have to sign a new kicker, with Crosby and Gould being the obvious choices. So why don't we just sign one of them and cut out the middle man?

Talking about a team with a second kicker on the roster like the Chargers. They have Dicker and Hopkins. I'd trade a seventh for Hopkins.

Or if they don't want Dicker, I'll take him too. He's only 870k on the books. Hopkins has a 1.9m cap number this year.

Carlson just drilled a 62 yarder with ease. Damn I wish we had a kicker like that

Carlson was drafted by the Vikings then cut because he wasn't doing well. Raiders picked him up and he's been great ever since. Perhaps we should be a little patient with our very talented kicker.

Guy hasn't even played his first game and people want to get rid of him, even though he's had an amazing camp. Lmao

the raiders game missed nicks were surprising but we don't know why they happened - if it was just a bad kick or holding or snap etc. the missed PAT had to do with the wild winds from the hurricane that hit so cal. I'm really not concerned about him but I hope we can get him some easy ones before we ask him to boot a 55 yarder for the win

This. The chargers will cut one of them. They are both good.
Let's just score TDs every drive with 2 pt conversions until Moody is healthy. Problem solved.

It's interesting because Dicker was so good but they gave Hopkins a three year deal. Not much money until later years, but Hopkins has a big leg too. Pretty sure he can hit from 60.

I think the best option is to cut Zane, put Moody on the IL, and sign a veteran kicker. If the vet kicker doesn't work out, then bring Moody back from the IL, otherwise keep him on IL all year.

Trick with that is they'll have to put Moody on the initial 53 and then IR him, and then sign the vet kicker, as any IR before the 53 cut down is for the year, and they obviously would lose him if they cut him.

Very good point.

I'd give anything to have a kicker named Dicker!! 🤣
Waste a draft pick on a highly touted kicker. He gets injured. What comes next should be no surprise to anyone. It's the Kyle Lynch playbook. Gould brought back while moody never gets chance to show his talent. He gets traded for a 7th round pick. And the search for a long term kicker starts anew. Rinse and repeat….

Would be kinda amusing though if we traded a 7th for a kicker who becomes the long term answer and Moody gets Purdy'ed essentially.
i bet the org is just kicking themselves right now I can't believe this
these 3rd rounders have been no good, wide of the mark
i guess all we can do, is put our best foot forward here

He missed three kicks in a game against the Packers that ended in a 29-29 tie and Zimmer panicked. This was week 2 of his rookie season.

On the flip side, Carlson has said getting cut was beneficial to him as it allowed him to change some things, and the Raiders are getting the rewards of that.

Even former Vikings GM Rick Spielman regrets cutting him.
