The 49ers, as a team, played the worst game of the season they have played to date against the Browns. They weren't ready. It showed. This wasn't just Jake Moody. But, like everyone else on this TEAM, he did not play his best game yesterday.

Time to move on. Vikings are on the clock!

Go look at a map, the bolded is nonsensical nonsense.

He knows how to kick in bad weather in Michigan. He should be able to do it.

what are you getting at, evil? He had to kick in conditions in college he was a big 10 kicker. Where is the lie?

Browns stadium sits right on Lake Erie.

Whats the closest Lake of similar size to Ann Arbor ?

Yeah I wanted Kyle get it closer but I totally understand him playing it safe especially how bad our offense was all day and with how things were going disaster could've struck. Moody should've hit a 41 yarder with no problem, it's not like they asked him to hit from 55.

Except it seems some fans truly don't know and understand that kicking in Cleveland can truly be a challenge.

Here is Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins talking about just that back in August after he was acquired by the Browns in a trade :

It wasn't as simple a kick as some seem to think. The winds were swirling all day inside that stadium.

LMAO @ the Zoners sarcastically chastising folks for bringing up the "weather" in the pre game thread calling em pussies basically

One more Jordan Mason run would have made that FG good.
yeah, we had one TO left

This is why I feel like Shanahan gifted them the win a little bit. Any closer and Moody makes that kick and the 49ers would've gotten closer they had the Browns on their heels.

Shanahan might have been concerned about Mason fumbling the ball if he ran it one more time. If it was McCaffrey I guarantee he would have ran once more.

I think the point rings true, Ann Arbor (esp. as we get to Oct - Dec), you have conditions, I think that was the point, and I view that point as correct
it doesn't have to be one of one exact same as CLE, for the point to hold true that he has experience in weather

How many game winning field goals on an undefeated team in those weather conditions on the road did he have to kick in college?
I wouldn't panic about 1 game and I still support him and won't hate on him. But I'm much more concerned now. We need to be able to hit those. Just above 40 yards barely needs to go in for a game winner. This is the NFL. It can happen once. I hope it's not a trend or we will lose close games. We can't afford that.

Do you suggest he is here to miss kicks, if the situation of the kick is not the exact same of what he experienced before?

No it doesn't. The conditions in AA are not comparable to those in Cleveland.

Yes both have conditions/elements but there are not similar or the same. It's apples and oranges.

Go back two pages and listen to Hopkins comments. Kickers know that every stadium is different and some have more challenging elements/conditions. It isn't the same in every stadium and you don't just easily figure it out in pregame warmups. Phil Dawson has said before you can't trust the flags in Browns stadium.

let's get a lil real, what do you suggest, he fly to CLE in advance of the game and get a few months to kick there to get a feel for it, before we play the game?

he has to hit kicks if you are discussing the great lakes in the kicker thread, that's how you know it ain't going well
Painful rookie lesson-learned...great to see Wishnowski taking care of him. He's a heckuva K, make no mistake about it. He'll be better.

We're f**ked in the post season if he can't handle "different" conditions based on a geographical area. Which is straight nonsense if you ask me and a reach to justify missing those kicks yesterday. He straight up choked.
Well, he'll never have to kick for us in Cleveland in the playoffs, so that's a positive.
