No it doesn't. The conditions in AA are not comparable to those in Cleveland.

Yes both have conditions/elements but there are not similar or the same. It's apples and oranges.

Go back two pages and listen to Hopkins comments. Kickers know that every stadium is different and some have more challenging elements/conditions. It isn't the same in every stadium and you don't just easily figure it out in pregame warmups. Phil Dawson has said before you can't trust the flags in Browns stadium.

Sometimes things mean a lot and sometimes they don't. It could be that the conditions in CLE are singular, which would mean very little moving forward because we play there once every 8 years in the regular season and never in the playoffs. Hopefully the kid doesn't get it in his head and is money the next time we need him.
I was happy to her that the team has rallied around him giving him encouragement. That's what he needs no instead of fans saying he should be cut.

Browns stadium sits right on Lake Erie.

Whats the closest Lake of similar size to Ann Arbor ?

I think the point rings true, Ann Arbor (esp. as we get to Oct - Dec), you have conditions, I think that was the point, and I view that point as correct
it doesn't have to be one of one exact same as CLE, for the point to hold true that he has experience in weather

let's get a lil real, what do you suggest, he fly to CLE in advance of the game and get a few months to kick there to get a feel for it, before we play the game?

he has to hit kicks if you are discussing the great lakes in the kicker thread, that's how you know it ain't going well

Yes he has to hit those kicks but he is also a rookie who is growing and developing.

-Robbie Gould missed 6 FGs in his rookie year and went on to have a tremendous career as a kicker.

-Phil Dawson missed 4 FGs in his rookie year and also had a good career for a kicker.

Yesterday was a learning experience for a young Player. There are at most maybe handful of stadiums that are more challenging when it comes to conditions but he can learn from it and be better for it.

Brock made mistakes yesterday too and he too can learn from them. Doesn't mean we should move on from him and bring back JG. We can't win in the playoffs if he plays like he did yesterday, yet he isn't getting the same level of criticism as Moody is when both failed to play up to expectations.

Hit the FG the 49ers win after having a lousy day. Brock has pressure the whole game Moody has pressure on one play of the game.

great post, bud
Hot take: Moody didn't miss because he choked. He missed because he's not an accurate kicker.
Fun fact. The 94 championship team had a rookie kicker who was drafted in the 3rd round and missed a field goal in the super bowl.

Now we just need to find another Deion Sanders.

And what happened to that kicker the next year?

Got his ass fired. I think he missed two game winners IIRC. Fellow Spartan, lol.
He missed because he didn't "accurately" assess the wind. I don't think he is inaccurate. Reports before the game said you it was windy but you couldn't feel the wind on the field. Both of his kicks start centercut and get pushed right because of the wind. He said himself after the game that he misjudged the wind.

Shoulda snapped the ball and kicked it after the ice to get that rep. A lot of shoulda coulda's I suppose and some learning moments that STs, Kyle and Moody can learn from... i.e. make it an easier kick, put the ball on the left hash. End of the day, make the kick.

He hits it well, no doubt. The kid will be good and of course I'm rooting for him to make the next one.

On to the Vikings and Kirk on primetime.
