Jake Moody will go down in history. For the wrong reasons.
Was Moody even 100% ? Or does Wish take kickoffs normally now? I thought I saw him making kickoffs yesterday.
Cowboys kicker looking pretty legit so far. 16/16. Game Winning FG tonight (Not as time expired).
So crazy how much our fans overreact lol

It's not an overreaction though. You can't practice that situation at all in practice. That's a fact.

We are going to be in close games this year again. Another fact.

I'd make a change. I'd resign Robbie and carry 2 kickers.

One down game doesn't make it a consistent trend. He had the yips in preseason and then was perfect in the regular season on FG and XP until the Browns game.

Let's make it a coachable moment and hopefully he comes back stronger. It's a sunk cost at this point - so we should all be cheering for him.
Owen Pochman 2.0
The idea that he missed that FG because he was nervous is nonsense. He missed one earlier in the game as well. It was 10 yards further but distance wasn't the issue. I can't believe how people expect the FG kicker to be perfect every time but they give a pass to other players who have bad games. He could go into a funk and have a bad streak but he could also hit nearly every FG the rest of the year. I know it's a different sport but you see hitters in baseball go into slumps. Golfers go through streaks where they can't putt or drive straight. It doesn't mean they suck. It means they're human.

This. Sort of like Aiyuk dropping a TD on that deep shot hit him in the hands that would have likely iced the game.

There's also kyle with time and a t/o remaining not trying to pick up a few more yards. Kick barely missed. If it was 36 instead of 41 it would have squeaked in.

Defense also missed a ton of tackles. There's enough blame to go around.

The Browns kicker made one from about the same distance. His hooked left at the end instead of staying right. If Moody had kicked it into the line or missed by a mile I would be concerned.

It's almost as if Kyle wanted this adversity. He asked for it before the game and it was teed up. Good learning experience now vs is December or January (or February )

Yes it is an overreaction. If it happens again and again then its a problem.
If Moody costs the Niners another game then we resign Robbie Gould. Problem solved

There's other kickers out there younger who won't pull something in pre game warm ups. I really think Gould was a necessary evil for a while. After he did his holdout and wanted to go back to Chicago I don't think he was a coach favorite. Just a mercenary.
