Nah, Chiefs just would have gone for a TD in regulation and ended it there.

crazy that letting Gould walk hurt us as much as it did. A few of niner-fan friends predicted this

It didn't hurt us at all. Gould wouldn't have made a 52 and 55 yard field goal in the Superbowl. I get we are all upset after this game but come on.

Every kickoff was deep in the end zone. No returns. Gould couldn't do that.

Exactly. People need to realize we probably would've lost in regulation if we had Gould instead of Moody in this game..

More like Moody makes that XP and Mahomes ends up throwing a TD at the end of regulation.

Yep. The missed XP was a blessing in disguise.
I know he missed an extra point, but Moody should be celebrated for how he did in the Super Bowl. He was 3-3 on FGs, including long 52 and 55 yd field goals, and one of them was a high pressure kick in OT. Gotta give him his due. I feel confident he will only get better.

Yeah my hope is next year he's more robotic/automatic. He experienced the most intensity he ever will so it should be easier now.
He was more good than bad in the Super Bowl. Also during the season.

This. That extra point was not the difference.

Haha. Yeah, that's probably true too. But the mindset between just needing a FG to tie at the end of regulation and a TD to win it are very different.
Moody will be fine, got his rookie season nerves out the way and showed he can nail kicks in the big moments.

Yeah, he certainly has a good foundation to build from now.

Moody then and now, cool pic:)

I was impressed with him in the Superbowl, worried as hell lol but in the end, impressed.
Hindsight is 20/20 but I wonder if we would have picked him knowing the kickoff rules would change.
This was such a dumb pick. You never draft a kicker that high. The value just isn't there. I wouldn't even take Justin Tucker that high. There's plenty of guys that can do the job, and my team would never be good or a SB contender because of Justin Tucker

Just factoring in the pressure of being a high draft pick and the added pressure of being on a SB favorite, I was worried about this kid. I knew he would cost us at least one game, and he possibly cost us the SB. It was really stupid to go into this season with a rookie kicker with a ton of added pressure on himself

I think he will be good moving forward, but it's still not worth a 3rd rounder. Such a dumb idea to draft him high for a SB team. Just get a vet that's not gonna blow it

I think kicker is right up there with QB when it comes to building a football team.

Kickers have probably won & loss more super bowls than any other position. Kickers have changed to history of the NFL, kickers have knocked teams out of the playoffs (see; 1998 Minnesota Vikings). Tom Brady has a few kicker rings LOL.

I know its a crazy job, but we will have to see how young Moody looks this season to see if he was worth it.
