Wright is still injured I think, and Carlson is on the Jets. Even so, they seem to be sticking with Moody
Get some kickers in to have a little competition with Moody. Apply some pressure on this guy and let's see if he cracks

Carlson is on PS, meaning if we invite him to active roster he is ours, is my understanding.

i don't need to see if he cracks in prax i see it in games
Maybe it really all mental because he kicks like his last name. I think he should change his last name to 'Marksman'.
I remember the team having a kickoff specialist in the past, why not have Moody kickoff and Carlson or other kick extra points and short field goals. Moody can continue getting healthier and be the 50+ kicker going forward.
Knowing our luck whatever player we demote to do this would end up being essential due to injury haha

Our new kicker should be Nick Steady.
I think making his first game winner had to be a good weight off his shoulders.

Maybe we will see a more "locked in" guy going forward.. Hopefully.

I can tell you his issue was definitely technical/mechanical and is a pretty simple fix, but needs reps to solidify again..

Yet we have posters claiming he has the yips LMAO.

And? Let someone else burn a pick on him. He himself was shocked he got drafted that high.

cold have grabbed a damn soccer player like Dallas did. Kickers across the league and for years have been UDFAs or late day 3 picks. What rd did Adam Vinatieri get taken in? Gould? Tucker? Butker?

kickers across the league are banging 50+ all day. Meanwhile we're all clenching our butt cheeks every time he steps on the field.

im glad he redeemed himself and got the last one obviously, so far he's shown it was a massive reach and a bad pick.

Yea kickers love cougars

i fear he does have the yips cuz he'll miss in bunches. it's happened on several occasions.

If he makes them in practice but not live games, isn't that the very definition of the yips?
Who cares if we invested a 3rd round pick, not every pick is going to be a hit, but we did dam well with our current draft class. Time to cut ties with this joker who crumbles under pressure with most of his kicks. Just because he can kick it 1000 yards doesn't make up for his unreliability and inaccurate kicks and he doesn't have the mindset to handle high pressure situation kicks.

I don't think it's much different than a quarterback who is off and throwing high or low.

He has everything right except one thing, and it's his plant foot. It's not landing pointed in the right direction and if that's off, it's going to guide the kick elsewhere.

If your plant foot lands pointing the wrong way and you use "weight distribution" to direct the kick instead to compensate, it will hook. You can get away with that if you calculate right, but that's not proper form.

Moody was struggling with planting properly on at least 4 of his kicks, including the game winner.
