he was never doing good. this is a myth. his first preseason he was shanking all over the place and he had this look on his face like he wet the bed. he's just not confident at all. he stopped during his last kick during his motion, then restarted.

Huh? He was 13 of 14 before his injury this year.

Should definitely bring some competition in during the offseason & may the best man win!

Seems like a practice star who can't translate it to the field. If he stays in the league long enough, he might get out of his own head eventually. But right now, he's a liability.

I actually picked up Moody in the 5th round in my 2023 mock. Better than the third for sure. He does need to change his last name. Moody is like the worst name for a kicker. It evokes an unstable and unpredictable emotional state. Change your name to perhaps, Archer, for next season?

You do remember the SB right. He kicked a record 55 yarder. He was 3-3 on FGs in his biggest game. He had that injury earlier this season and missed some games. Since he came back he's not nearly as accurate. I have to wonder if he's 100% or if he's trying to over compensate to avoid reinjuring himself. He may be doing it subconsciously.

He's been bad this season but so has Deebo. So have several players on defense. Do we just get rid of everyone that had an off year starting with Purdy? Let's just trade the entire franchise.

You're really comparing someone like Deebo to an effing kicker ?

Kickers are REPLACEMENT LEVEL commodities in the NFL. When they suck, you dont chase em, you replace em.
You don't make excuses for them, you replace em.

And instead there's a literal effin saga going on defending him and making excuses. The inability of the team to cut flesh when needed and inability for fans to see it this way is SO baffling to me.

The Niners are dead last in the special teams, they are awful. Yet they are paying ST aces good money, pay Odum, DFF for ST play, pay Schneider and drafted Moody and now cant cut him. This is incomprehensible.

Scour all teams for FA kickers and bring in competition for Moody.

We don't want to end up w/someone worse.
