They have a lot of misses in the first 3 rounds. I'm fine with them picking well middle and later rounds. But they got to hit on some of these early ones if you want to build a real championship team.
This is like the Ambry Thomas situation again, except a hundred times worse. At least Ambry stunk as an outside corner, an important position.

Holding on to a kicker who missed like half of his 18 40+ kicks, makes zero sense. Yet here we are. Why-I have no idea.

Forget the kicker situation actually, just how scary it is for the rest of the team with the way they cling to bad players. Are we sure Brendel still isn't the starting center next year? Would Puni sniff the field this year if Burford and Feliciano were fully healthy?

And this contrasts with the WR doghouse so much. How you want perfection in execution when you hang on to bad players who can't execute?

It's 100% due to where he was drafted and them not wanting to be wrong about a pick that everyone except them thought was a stupid one

Their success rate is about average. When you consider that they've been picking near the end of every round for most of the years it's actually remarkable that they've done as well as they have. Their one major mistake was moving u to tke Lance. I understand why they did it but it wasn't a good year to be doing that. Bad QB class . Unfortunately they happened to have a rare opportumity to move up since they had a bad year following JGs injury. Too bad it didn't happen in a year when there were some really tlented players like last year.

AI is brutal !

I like the kid and it's weird because he kicked the longest field goals in sb history no? I mean that's as high pressure as it gets so in his own mind he should KNOW he can do it in the toughest situations. He simply thinks too much and needs to friggin clear his head.

The same kid missed and extra point in the SB

I dont know. They cut Latu before the season started, and he was a similar draft pick. Same with Trey Sermon.

I hope you're right, but I think it's more scary than just ego. It might be just that they (or rather Kyle, Lynch was furious when Moody missed one of the kicks yesterday but I dont think Lynch has any say) dont understand the value of kicker position. Neither in the draft or if the kicker struggles.

Yes the Lance pick was obviously bad but I would also consider the Kinlaw pick a major mistake.
One of the top rated Tackles ( wirfs ) fell right to us and they picked a guy who had medical red flags before the draft.

People say this stuff a lot but I kinda doubt this. We only gave one game left, only reason he's not cut is because we have nothing to play for. They'll likely sign a guy to a futures deal and cut Moody before the new league year

Yeah I get that. I guess I was referring to just hanging onto him period; after TWO guys off the street showed how easily replaceable he is and how dumb it was to use such a high pick on him.

The only saving grace is we are not in playoffs, I expect them to bring in strong competition and literally give the best kicker the job
