He's also the most likely 3rd round pick in the league to be released before week 4.

I watched that 59 yarder live in the CFP - that's when I was like "I want him".

as long as he hits most of the sub 40 yard kicks, he adds multiple elements to special teams that will give us nothing but advantages. Especially in the playoffs, I feel like special teams don't get the credit it deserves. Lol

remember opening half against baltimore in the super bowl? A touchback would of avoided all of that. We've had old reliable kickers with decling legs for over a decade now. It's nice to have a young cannon now.

I loved what Robbie Gould brought to our team, but the last two years, I've wanted him to have some competition. They never really brought one in till now. Sad to see Robbie go, he's been so consistent and steady, but nobody beats Father Time, unfortunately. This guy has everything you need from a kicker. I'm hoping he's the real deal in the regular and post season.

Yeah, I'd have no problem if we resigned gould as well. I think he just became too expensive and didn't bring enough to special teams to warrant it (in the FO view). Which I get - Moody has huge shoes to fill.

i wonder who will sign Robbie. I'm surprised he's still a FA.

Mike f**king Cofer was the greatest kicker of all time!

What I always found funny about when the 49ers and Raiders we were both horrible - is we had like the best kicker and punters in the league. Bababa we had Nedney/Lee and they had Lechler/Janikowski lol we were horrible everywhere else.

also the offenses were so bad that they had to boot it like 48 yards a punt. Lmao

Please elaborate. How on earth did you come to that conclusion?

I'm not. He will be another year older, can't kick touchbacks, can't rely on him 49-60+, wants too much money.

49ers used the Belichick formula on him, let him go a year before they nose dive.

What an asinine statement lmao

I'd love to make a bet with you on that

Gould was 3/3 on FGs over 50 this season, including 1/1 in playoffs
He was 5/6 last season, including 2/2 in playoffs

Jake moody is career 4 out of 10 on FGs over 50

What am I missing and where does the logical conclusion that one cannot rely on Gould 49+ comes from ?

Like he has a real answer for that
