Here's to hoping he's a modern era Morten Anderson, who was drafted 86th overall, 13 picks higher than Moody. Anderson is in the Hall of Fame.

And when I say modern era, I mean in terms of accuracy. Since the 2000s, kickers are overall more accurate than they were in the old days. He already has the big leg, but if he can be a perennial 80-90% kicker over his career, he will be seen as one of the all-time greats when it's all said and done. Lofty goals, but he has the raw ability and mindset coming out that gives him a chance.

My guess is he means you can find elite talent at QB from the UDFA pool. But Kurt Warner is so much of an outlier that this discussion is pointless. I'm not participating in this, have fun.

I get where he was going with that but maybe not the best example.

A more similar example might be running backs. You find plenty as UDFAs, but that doesn't mean you always want to pass on a legitimately more talented one earlier all the time.

what is the opposite of learning, I believe that's what just happened here

I'd rather talk about the player on his merits, not just spam welp so and so unrelated was udfa

49ers do their due diligence, they looked at all the udfa kickers, they chose this route; I'm willing to give some benefit of the doubt to our org and support this Moody pick with good faith / optimism, I think he will do well for us, better than most of our 3rds (Sermon anyone?)
