I'd rather talk about the player on his merits, not just spam welp so and so unrelated was udfa

49ers do their due diligence, they looked at all the udfa kickers, they chose this route; I'm willing to give some benefit of the doubt to our org and support this Moody pick with good faith / optimism, I think he will do well for us, better than most of our 3rds (Sermon anyone?)

You making up some whataboutisms is spamming lol. comparing players who play the same position isn't spamming or derailing a thread about a kicker. It's having a conversation…if you don't want to take part in it, then don't.

Unlike most young rookies who get to develop. If you spend a top 100 pick on a kicker, he's gotta be f**king good. Young kickers don't get to play through rough patches. There's no "rotation" there. He doesn't get to develop, especially on a "Super Bowl or bust" team. That's the reality of it.

no he doesn't have to be good
was Trey Sermon good?
how good is the average late 3rd round selection?

you know who has to be good, Trey Lance
that's a three ones investment..

a random comp third doesn't have to be anything, in the case of Sermon, not even on roster after 1 year where he got hurt his first carry

what is your answer at kicker

roll with 40+ year old / skills are eroding Gould
random udfa
Zane Gonzalez
Moody

I like how we addressed it, if Moody sucks we can move on as easy as we did from Trey Sermon, simple as that..

And Warner wasn't a UDFA. I don't even see what relative point he's trying to make? Just random whataboutisms and deflecting from the actual comment. It's an old and stale shtick.

Oh I thought Warner was. Nice, learned something new today and it's still morning.

We're talking about Fred, right? He was the 70th pick in the draft.

oh boooyy

if you thought it was Fred, why did you just gloss over thl calling Fred a QB?

lol NY. F6 will purposely not understand a joke just so he can think he caught you slippin.

Story of my life...

Again talking about another position vs a kicker pretending it's all equal 😂

You can have multiple RBs on a roster. You can NOT have multiple Ks. If he doesn't come out like a stud and is losing them games…he's f**king gone. We're not allowed to develop players on a Super Bowl roster…you've had no problem championing that take.

Quit trying to compare a kicker to a QB. Lol s**tting on Gould who actually won this team playoff games. You're such a homer man.

Mr. Flip flop can't get anything straight lolz complaining about spamming a kicker thread, while he's trying to comp a QB and a RB to a K

dude will try to find the one random outlier to prove a point…talk about shaky ass debating. I guess as long as he believes it, that's all that matters in his little world….if F6 was GM. Draft a kicker in the 1st and just go get Kurt Warner or Tony Romo as a UDFA. Bro lives in the upside down. 🙃

Only guy that has to be great immediately is Lance. Everyone else gets the benefit of the doubt or it's no big deal how they play as long as 9ers win.

Even the dude that got 137 million got to run out the back of the endzone.

Par for the course.

You are getting it backwards, TL didn't have to be great right away, he sat year 1 by design. Moody does have to be at least good or serviceable right away, or he will be replaced.

My point was, even if Moody doesn't work out, who cares it's a late 3rd, those picks are often (who the heck was that guy) style selections

dude we don't have time to develop a QB we spent 3 1sts on!

But a kicker?? Oh he can totally blow a couple games on this SUPER BOWL ROSTER, you know because he's a rookie and all Kickers totally get a long leash in this league. I mean, it's not like it's one of the hardest positions to evaluate because of the mental side of it. No pressure on moody at all lol.

If Lance played exactly the same in that Bears game BUT the rest of the team didn't totally s**t the bed and they won…you think they'd feel any different towards him? I mean they won? Lol absolutely not.

imagine being all bent out of shape with the opportunity cost of pick 99, a guy who hasn't even played a game for us yet

Lol you thought Lance was gonna be the MVP and have like 40TDs this past year. You all but flipped the switch on that after 30 passing attempts. If there was anyone expecting him to be great right away it was you.

Or you could draft Fred Warner and end up with the best ILB in football. Picking a kicker there is dumb no matter how homer we want to be about it. I'd rather take a chance at grabbing an all pro like Kittle or Warner before I draft a position that can be, and almost always is, filled without using any draft capital

I would argue KS thought he would be great also, or why else did they select him? But again, he wasn't to be great right away, plz, that's the whole sit him year 1 strategy, do we forget about that?

Moody doesn't have to be great, but he has to hit around 80%+ that's the mendoza line for kickers, York hit 75% last season, he still has a job, but perhaps on the hot seat a bit, again you never answered the above question directly, about what would you do, seems clear from your posts, you would acquire an udfa.. however suppose you want Dunn, and LAR signs him before you do, no guarantee you sign the player you want, unless you draft that guy.

One of 5 kickers drafted in the top 100 since 2000. That pick itself isn't gonna make or break the team overall in the long-term…I mean it could very well cost them games this yr on a SUPER BOWL ROSTER. God knows ya'll used that pitch in here plenty.

It is was horrible value, plain and simple. There's plenty of data to back that up.

I'm guessing you will be over him in about 3 or so games if he misses a couple kicks.

FWIW you're the one that came in here all bent out of shape about spamming. All I said was Gould was an UDFA when someone was trying to compare them.

how much value was Sermon? you saw KS on the phone with Moody, KS said we went kicker over a RB through his teeth lol, he wanted another Sermon/TDP

instead we have Moody and are better for it
