I there anybody old enough to remember the Taxi Squad (1977?).
What did they do and how did thay get that name?
I saw a Mia Perlman piece regarding what they regarded as the 49ers worst ever QB who was on this Taxi Squad.

My understanding is that the "taxi squad" is just another name for the practice squad, so naturally the QB on it probably wouldn't be that good
