I'm hard……..that is all
Very stoked, but man. We're just overcorrecting that horrible mistake with drafting Kinlaw

This makes sense

Don't pay Buck, don't pay Jones, wasted a pick on Kinlaw with Wirfs on the board. Don't make senses tbh

Was thinking the same thing, especially with Jones and his salary half of what we're paying Hargrave.

Hargreaves is a much better player than DJ (I loved DJ too). He is also a different player than Buck and showed that in a similar scheme in Philly what he can do. This move is certainly an admission that they blew it on Kinlaw. But this is what good teams do.

when you have a cheap QB, you get to over pay.

60 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, 11 sacks, 16 quarterback hits, two passes defensed, and a forced fumble through 17 starts with the Eagles last season. If he puts up those numbers on this D, it could be an all time NFL great. Just need to address the secondary now, and hopefully that can be done through the draft.

Yeah but can he take on double teams and do nothing like Armstead?

Teams will have to pick their poison on double teams. The other thing this signing does is makes AA that much better. I see him returning to the form he had with Buck next to him. We now have the undisputed best D line in the league. If we could do that with the O line, nobody will keep us from #6.
That's a lot of f**king money but he's been on a tear over the past few years, I'm sure they're hoping he can keep it up for at least 2 to 3 more.

Hargrave moved from western Pennsylvania over to the East Coast during 2020 free agency and has been a force in Philadelphia, blossoming into one of the elite interior pass-rushers in the NFL over the past few seasons. Since 2020, Hargrave's 92.2 pass-rush grade trails only Aaron Donald and Chris Jones at the position, with his 18.8% pass-rush win rate also ranking third… Hargrave will be 30 years old for the 2023 season, but we've seen many interior defenders maintain longevity well into their 30s recently… His run-defense grades were much better in his first stop, but it seems he can excel at whatever is asked of him, which is good to know for interested teams that likely don't frequently deploy a five-man front and do a lot of the other exotic things Philadelphia does up front.
Kinlaw on trade block lol....would be lucky to get a 7th comp pick. I have no hate for Kinlaw, he hasn't shown anything with the Niners to warrant a trade value.

Hindsight sucks but if we were able to have Wirfs instead of Kinlaw............

It's not hindsight at all, I said it WHILE we were on the clock! I would have been calling everyone to see what I could move MM for. I think at the minimum we could have gotten the Dolphins 2nd rounder for him (especially since they ended up using the 18th on an OT instead), and I would have taken Robert Hunt there. Wirfs/Hunt on the right side would have been AMAZING for our zone run scheme!

Teams shouldn't be able to run the ball on us either. So I assume, to avoid our pass rush, opposing offenses will try a quick passing attack, a la the Rams in the NFCCG last year. Fortunately, few teams in the NFL have the QB / WR / playcalling combination to pull that off... but our corners are going to have to be ready.

I'm hopeful we can squeeze out another signing at CB in this free agency period. But at the LEAST... If Emmanuel Moseley can come back healthy, and/or Deommodore Lenoir/Ambry Thomas can shore up CB2... things look very good for us.
