Let's be honest, Lynch has wasted so much money on his big free-agent moves in his career with us. Overall pathetic to be honest.

Relative to who?

They rarely can name many better. The mere fact that they have to bring up the very best examples as someone better shows the class Lynch is in. It's like when people criticize Kyle, they immediately go to Andy Reid as someone better, which is the greatest piece of evidence that Kyle is a top 5 coach.

Yeah as if we're the only team to strike out when it comes to big FA deals, the majority, I'd say 8/10 maybe 9/10 of those players never get to see that full value, it's a crapshoot in free agency just like the draft, especially when you have so many 23-25yr olds hitting FA for the first time, and up and coming players get overpaid, then underperform, yet every year the fans of every team, not just ours wants the BIG NAMES, then they under perform.

I think for our team it's disappointing how much they've focused on the d line, but have almost always missed and or underperformed. It caught up to them.
What a mess of a signing that was. Huge deal. Got nothing in return. Just injuries, under performing, bad scheme fit and now to be released. Cap hit spread over a few years. This team is a mess in some ways.

Yes. Damn, why didn't they look in that magic glass?
I appreciate that they took a big swing in adding him in 2023. Shame it didn't quite work out and didn't result in a championship, but definitely time to move on and get younger and less expensive at DT.

What sucks about this one is it was pretty obviously a bad signing by from the very beginning. An aging DT that is very good at pass rushing and struggles in run D signed to a very large contract.

Lynch played this extremely risky and desperate thinking he was one of the final pieces needed.

I mean, they lost the SB in OT. Lynch wasn't incorrect that they were right on the doorstep and could push through with just a little more of an edge. Hargrave didn't turn out to be that edge but the instinct was principally correct, just like it was when they traded for Sanders in 2019.

I doubt there was anyone who questioned this move when it was made. He was a terrific player who just didn't work out primarily because of injuries.

Yep. Comes under the heading of "can't win them all".
Gravedigger and dead money

They got 7 sacks, a pro bowl nod and a SB appearance where he had a sack and a FF in the 1st year of his contract.

I thought he was supposed to be a post June 1st cut.
