49ers sign DT Javon Hargrave

The age is a concern but he played his best football the last two seasons. He´s in the prime of his career. Besides the goal is to win the Superbowl next year right? He´s only 30 years old.
Ballsy move by John and Kyle but damn that may be the one piece that will make the difference next January. Hargrave and Armstead could be an unstoppable combo inside rushing the passer.

I was a little nervous about the age too but he doesn't have a ton of snaps for his age. Justin Smith was on the older end when we brought him in, he had arguably the best phase of his career after turning 30 with us. Let's hope same goes for Hargrave.

Power size and strength players also age better than speed/agility players

I'm so happy to not have to worry about pad levels.

--- As I understand it, we don't have to be compliant right NOW.
--- We can manage things so we have more cash this year by restructuring some of our contracts.
--- It helps to have 2 QB's on rookie contracts.
--- I assume Paraag will do his magic so that cap hits are managed well and everyone's big hits aren't hitting at the same time.:
--------- Year 1 of Hargrave's Deal: CMC cap hit is only $12M, Deebo is only $9M
--------- Year 2: Deebo balloons to $28M, but Lance is only at $10M.
--------- Year 3: Arik Armstead and Mooney Ward's hits are only $6M and $4.8M respectively.
--------- Year 4: Deebo and Kittle's hits are only $8M and $2M respectively.
--------- Trent Williams, Fred Warner are gonna be big hits for the next couple years though. The structure of Nick Bosa's potential extension will be key, and they're gonna have to make a decision on whether they can afford both Deebo AND Aiyuk.

I'd saying age is an issue if he was a RB. Dude is a s**t brick house. Missed like 3 games in his career.

I think we're gonna see a lot more out of AA this upcoming year.

Those low cap hits for AA, Deebo, Ward are all void years. They're currently scheduled to be free agents those years but we're still taking those cap hits.

They'll need to be re-signed or replaced.

Absolutely; AA is the biggest beneficiary in this

I like it, but now you're paying armstead bosa and Hargrave? Thays a lot of money on the dline when the. Oline needs so much help.

But we got mckivitz, Brunskil and no center, so that's decent.
