Browns were in huge need of a DT too, so it was massive to bring Hargrave to SF.
Steal Hargrave from the Browns.....

Wow! This is a fantastic start to free agency. The Gravedigger and Darnold are solid signings. With one signing they make the DL formidable, even though it was so before, Maybe there is something else brewing, can't wait to find out.

New #49ers DT Javon Hargrave signed a four-year, $84M deal with a $23M signing bonus and $40M in total guarantees. Deal includes two void years. Cap hit in 2023 should only be $6.6M.

When was the last time we had a free agency signing this significant? Jimmy G and Trent Williams were technically bigger contracts but they were both re-signings (and Williams' was only a tad bigger in APY).
Ford was a trade-and-sign but the deal was like $17.5M a year.
Ward last year was $14M a year, Kwon in 2019 was $13.5M a year…
This might ironically be our biggest free agency acquisition in decades. In an offseason where we were expecting it the least.
