Big contracts to 30+. Hargrave is injured. Trent Williams keeps cramping up and needing fluids. We need offensive and defensive line in the draft. Have to get younger and can't keep relying on older, expensive free agents.

I just heard an NFL injury update and guys are dropping like flies. Trent Brown out for the season. Two other starters are likely to have surgery and miss half the season.
The chiefs always find a way around their injuries… we are not the chiefs.
The Hargraves injury doesn't even upset me because he has been so horrible this season and wasn't that good last season. Especially in the run game. The run defense might be better without him.

Maybe he doesn't fit into the Niners scheme. Maybe the eagles had better talent around him. In any case a suspect D line just got weaker.

I'm not convinced he ever fit in in SF… is Evan Anderson still on the team? We need a big boy anchoring the middle!

I'd much rather give him a look than call up McGill.
Will be cut in the offseason for sure

How many CONSECUTIVE years are we going to have glaring holes on the offensive line and defensive line depth and this management will just keep ignoring them? We have needed oline help for years and they never make it a priority.

Never? McGlinchey a 1st round pick. Banks a 2nd round pick. This year Puni was a 3rd rounder. They also traded for the best tackle in the league (at that time). You can't say they ignore the O line. Some years there just aren't many good linemen available. They never load up at any one position in a draft. I looked at their drafts and its always spread around different positions.

Ccompare that to back 7. LB and Safety have been the most ignored positions of all.

Legitimate points, but we really have needed another Staley/Iupati type draft for that past 5/6 years. Not necessarily 2 first rounders but we should have targeted high round guys that could step in from day one.
That being said, as bad as our first 3 round drafted players have been, it wouldn't have mattered…..case in point, McGlinchy.

Malcolm Smith.

Jennings was always hurt but decent when he played.

Clements was massively overpaid but was okay.

Hargrave, overpaid but had a solid year as a pass rusher last year.

They really like WR over and over and over. While ignoring other areas.
