who says we don't have money?

This is where we need AB1 to help us understand what we do have to spend. I think we can get some help in the trenches both sides in FA depending on what we have to spend.

Team will have somewhere in the $50M range once they tender all of their ERFAs, Mason, re-sign Robinson to a 1yr $1.1M non GTD deal, plus account for Brock & Burford's base salaries escalating, it does depend on what the 2025 cap comes in at, some say as high as $280M, some say as low as $270M, so we'll see, also for Hargrave, his 2025 & 2026 base salaries become fully GTD on the 2nd day of the new league year, so March 13th at 4pm EST/1pm PST it becomes GTD, so they will post June 1 him, possible they re-sign him if no one signs him, and/or once he's fully healthy.

How accurate is this AB?

Also JH shows a dead cap of 17m in 2026 if cut post 6/1… why would we cut him and sign him when we owe/earmarked him at 17m in 2026

This is why I'm saying the savings ain't worth it.

If they didn't it'll be 25 mil dead cap hit in 2025, so thats probably why they're doing it this way. If they cut him after June 1st cut it'll be 8.6 mil deead cap hit for 2025.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/43337831/49ers-plan-release-javon-hargrave-not-deebo-samuel-sr

"The post-June 1 designation means Hargrave will count $8.6 million in dead money in 2025 and $17.485 million in 2026 as opposed to a nearly $25 million hit in 2025 without the designation. Hargrave signed a four-year, $84 million deal with the 49ers in 2023, but he played in just three games in 2024 before landing on injured reserve with a partially torn right triceps."

We would have to pick up a great DT in the draft or a very good depth DT in FA to justify letting him go

Might restructure again, even though reports say he's gone?

I would rather pick up a proven DT than one from the draft hoping he's good ala Kinlaw lol....

Hargrave probably wants to test the market to see his value..... JL has already said they want him back at a reduced cost though..

His cap hit rignt now for 2025 is 10 mil. I doubt they can get him for cheaper than that.
Tough news to break to my 5 year old son. Tried all season to get him an autograph and Hargrave was the one and only who signed for him :(

And, once again - what a bust of a signing. Thanks, Lynchy.

Javon was solid not worth that hefty contract. It's our top picks that have been atrocious . If it wasn't for so many late round hits I'd probably want a new gm. Don't see that happening anytime soon Lynch is tight with both Kyle and Mike

I hear you, but these high draft pick misses are becoming a trend. Free agent signings are always a 50/50 proposition.

It is a trend literally the only player they've hit on was Ayuik I suppose you can throw Deebo in there but guaranteed both of them were Kyle's picks. I don't count Bosa because that's a no brainer. Going down the list
Solomon Thomas
Rueben Foster
Mike McGlinchey
Javon Kinlaw
TREY LANCE x3
