Damn, we can have four (4) DEs than we can use to line up the way the Giants did in that Super Bowl Patriot upset.. they had that SPEED FOUR where all their DEs were rushing the Brady.

What happens to Hargrave?

Slot CB.

AA sits.. AA sits..
Still waiting for Ferrell to do anything this year.

IMO, we should cut him if we have anyone who can rush from the outside on the PS or someone available in FA.

Unfortunately, his deal is fully GTD, so they save literally nothing, but I have seen him mentioned once or twice, I'm gonna give the guy a chance, but if anything we can promote Austin Bryant, whose on the PS. Not many veteran EDGE rushers on the open market, Justin Houston was, got signed, now on IR, so idk who's out there.

I'm just not confident we'll get anything from him this year. That's all I'm saying. I know we value run defense but I'm not sure he's great there either. I think we could find someone on a cheap deal to trade for that could improve that position.
He's been fine, they're mostly playing him on run downs and take him out for Drake on obvious passing downs often.

Lack of statistics does not mean he's invisible out there. He will be a very important player when we play tough teams who know how to run the ball well...Eagles and Ravens.

This. They guy is a run topper and bad to set the edge on running down. If we can get 3 sacks out the guy it's a positive. He's been solid so far.

100%. As Judge Smails said, "The world needs ditch diggers too."

Tought crowd. We knew who he was. Guy is having a solid year. As someone said if we can get 3 sacks and I'll add some tackles for losses, we are good. I can't see him moving on to be a starting DE anywhere, but he should be good depth for us for another year.

I'm very happy with his performance so far. He's filling the role he was signed to fill.
He's playing at solid level.

He's not lighting it up BUT he's definitely making his presence felt.

IMO, he's earning his keep.

My issue with Ferrell is that IMO he doesn't push the pocket and he can't bend.

We've always had guys who could do one or the other.

Ebukam, Omenihu, Willis, and Street could all push the pocket. Then you have players like Ford, Key, Hyder, and now Jackson who can bend.

Not having bend or push on one side of the pocket on first and second down allows teams to focus on Bosa much more easily than before. Which is a reason why Bosa's numbers could drastically take a hit this year.

Is this a huge problem? Absolutely not.

But if the goal is to win a SB, we need more from our DE opposite Bosa on those early downs.

the issue with FERRELL is that his battery runs low in a hurry..

All of this. He comes off the field on 3rd downs a bunch.
Still not seeing this run stopper you guys are seeing…. it's upsetting how good this defense is while knowing we get nothing from one side of the DL on first and second down.

Id like to see Spencer Waege or our 5th rounder get some reps.
