Hats off to this guy for having a pretty good game vs the dark forces of mordor AND sticking up for his teammate who got dangerously dunked on by another chickensh&t seahawks lineman coached by the pestilent dwarf.
Good job dude. Welcome to the 49ers.

Yup, I love the addition of Ferrell, seems like a good teammate to have and solid depth.

This is gonna be a huge game for Ferrell as a run stopper. If I'm the Eagles OC I run all day and tell Jalen to escape horizontally. This means edges have to be on strict contain and be able to help in the run game.

It seemed that the few times that Hurts was able to escape and run, it was because Ferrell was a greedy little b***h and sold out for the rush instead of doing his job. It only happened a few times and need the tape to confirm it, but I swear he was the primary culprit every time I saw. We need every single DL to be selfless out there against these mobile QBs.

It was. Probably why he got less snaps down the stretch.

I cannot tell you how much I despise Ferrell as a player, stylistically. It's really nothing personal at all because I'm sure he's a great guy like Soloman Thomas was/is... but his style of play is losing football IMO.
He doesn't contain, he doesn't bend, he doesn't use his hands, he doesn't locate the football....
Before the game I was concerned about contain from Chase Young, because even though he's been an effective rusher, I noticed he's not maintaining his rush lanes very well.
And I thought they were easing Young in and he would play a lot more snaps than Ferrell. But it seemed like he didn't, we're still playing Ferrell a lot and he's a liability.
I think we need to give some of the younger players some reps TBH.
I love the win, and the secondary played out of their minds last night, but there's definitely some things to correct... containing being one of the biggest areas IMO.

Interestingly enough, this is easily Ferrell's best year as a pro. He probably would be well served the sign here again because even though the year was his best, it wasn't an Arden Key/Charles Omenihu/Samson Ebukam like year. Decent depth piece for now, but I do hope Beal develops and we still will need another depth lineman.

Hope it's not a season ended but it doesn't look good, especially getting carted off.

Sucks, but Niners are at least deep at DE.

This is setting up Chase Young to earn a legit contract in the off season. CF does do a solid job setting the edge. Something Gregory can't do well and something we just haven't seen a lot of out of Young. Let's hope that Young can get back to being a 3 down player. Then platoon in Beal and Gregory
