Losing Ebukam and Omenihu and signing Ferrell is a downgrade for me.
Maybe they know that Drake Jackson will be ready to be the starter opposite Bosa in year 2 I don´t know.
Maybe Armstead will play Base End and someone will play with Hargrave on the inside.
Is Jordan Willis FA?
I think it is a downgrade, but what can they do? Both of those guys got paid. Personally, I didn't want to lose Ebukam. I thought he was very underrated around here.
Playing Armstead at base end is going backwards. I hope they don't do that. You can play Ferrell as a base end, but I think Drake Jackson will be the dude opposite Bosa if he puts in the work this offseason.

If Ferell makes zero improvement, he's still a good run defender and that's a DE role that's needed with Omenihu and Ebukam gone. Willis is a free agent.

He was over drafted, which kind of put him in an impossible situation, he should of been a late first round pick or low second. Def a quality player but couldn't live up to #4 overall and should of never been drafted that high.
he should fit our scheme extremely well. Couple that with our coaching and talent around him, he made a smart career move.
Sounds like he was one of those dudes you talk yourself into that you believe can be more than what he is. It seems to me that he was an effective run stopper that occasionally can put pressure on the QB. I am good with that. You good?

Ferrell actually has played a good number of snaps inside. He doesn't have the quicks and slipperyness that Key has as an interior moneydown rush. Ferrell is kind of a stiff. His game is predicated on winning with his hands and power.

Disagree. He played with some pretty talented dudes at Clemson. He has never played in the pros with a cast like this.

I liked Clelin coming out of Clemson, but he was still drafted way too high and the raiders seemed like they don't know how to use him. I don't expect a bunch of production but these signing always pay off inseason as coach K knows how to use these guys.

Everyone is like "why only a one year deal!"
Wouldn't you do that if you were a DL trying to get a better contract lol. Come here for a year for cheap and then ball out and get paid

Makes sense. If nothing else he's solid against the run.
