If they bomb, your stuck with them.

1 year and then cash in is the incentive.

Yeah. They're kinda win/win. We get quality play and comp picks if they leave. The player gets a chance to revitalize their career and get a payday. We always find guys like this every year. It's our bread and butter in the off season.

A method that continues to win us all kinds of Super Bowls.

Need a couple more non-depth guys to start in that rotation.
Still, as usual, a work in progress on the DL who's only consistent core guys have been Bosa and Armstead.
But big + for bringing in Hargrave.

Getting Soloman Thomas vibes. Overdrafted (not the player's fault), high character, plays the run well, but can't rush the passer. If he can pitch in as a 1st/2nd down player, that's fine.

This. On our team he may get 5-6 sacks and that's the same production as Ekubam or Omenihu so as long as he's less than 5-6 million it a good signing.

He is a replacement for Ebukam, IMO.

He reminds me of Mike McGlinchey in that he was way overdrafted. He should have been a mid-late 1st round pick at the best. Never met expectations for such a high pick.

Raiders doing Raider.
Ferrell was never supposed to be a top 5 pick, he was projected as a late 1st so he was doomed from the beginning as he would never live up to being a top 4 pick. Kind of similar to Solomon Thomas who had no business being a top 3 pick but is a solid football player but he was always be labeled as a bust because he was over drafted. He's a decent player though; The Raiders had Ferrell playing out of position last year having him as a NT. He can play some DT but he's not a NT and he is a good fit for our "big end" spot as he certainly has not lived up as a pass rusher but he is a very solid run stopper. He's basically a cheaper version of Charles Omenhiu who was a key rotational guy for us who played DE and some DT. Solid move

Ebukam is a totally different player.
Just don't put his locker next to Kinlaw's!

Replacement in the sense he fills the roster spot. Not the same player.

Maybe they can get something out of him but I'm not expecting anything more than we got from Ridgeway.

Imagine if Kinlaw and Will Ferrell reviatalize their career together tho? We'd have Bosa, Hargrave, AA, Ferrell and Kinlaw playing up to expectations. That would be a monster DLine. And maybe a Drake Jackson step-up year 2

Solid signing IMO. Dude was way overdrafted. Doesnt have the burst and mobility to lead a team in sacks year in and year out. But hes a very balanced rusher. Pretty good against the run. Knows how to stay in formation and rush in his lane and keep containment. You dont necessarily want a speed end getting outside and letting QBs come up and exit the pocket before Armstead/Hargreaves/Bosa can close. He will know what his role is. And sometimes less expectations leads to better results.

We get comp picks when that happens.
