In relation to taking the Giants C, hopefully he's more Bart Oates than he is Weston Richburg.

I think Feliciano will probably be our starting RG and Burford will compete with McKivitz and a rookie for the starting RT spot. I always projected Burford as a RT for us. He was a OT his last two years at UTSA and was all-conference as a tackle and played OT at the senior bowl and held his own. Burford has more upside than McKivitz, who I think is solid and can start a game or two but more than that he will get exposed IMO. I still expect us to draft an offensive tackle with one of our three 1st rd picks

Nice pickup. Adds a lot of depth and flexibility.

Except Richburg was a damn good center by every metric. Just couldnt stay healthy. This guy is subpar. Plus he's an overly emotional idiot that picks up bad penalties.
He'll be decent as a backup but if he has to start more than a handful of games, it could get bad.

Someone to challenge Greenlaw for the title "Biggest Team Dummy".

I see this guy taking the 6th OL role of Brunskill. Maybe they will use him as RG and Burford as a RT? Burford was a Tackle in College.
Really trying to figure out his role...Why would he go from a starting center, that was especially good in pass pro, to now being a 6th OL?
It makes you feel like they told him there's a true open competition at RG, huh?
It is kinda strange. I'm curious to see what we paid him, we don't have that number yet do we? Just strange that Brendel in his first year ever playing more than a game got 4 yr 20 mil and Feliciano could only get a 1 year deal on a team that seems to have their starting interior OL intact. Seems like Feliciano is a bit better than Brendel at pass protection but Brendel is a little better at run blocking. Brendel is only 1 year younger than Feliciano so it's not an age thing. Maybe the Feliciano contract will be more than we think

I never saw "damn good" play by Richburg, even when he was healthy. Jimmy got pretty crappy protection from the middle OL his entire time here.
Feliciano graded out as a plus pass blocker. I'll take that for cheap.

Good signing. He's got good tape. Everything about his athletic profile scream this guy shouldnt see the field, especially at guard. But he seems to get it done. Different body type from Brendel. Real savvy player that uses his strengths well. Really love the flexibility and experience at all 3 spots in the IOL. Hopefully allows us to target a OT in the draft.

Could we be looking at him for C and move Brendel to G? Vice versa?

Makes no sense at all to move Brendal to guard after his season at center. Guess he could replace Burford.

Amen to that. He was average at best and was tossed around plenty

Jon Feliciano's 1-year contract with the 49ers: -$1.165m base salary (vet min) -$1m signing bonus -$85k workout bonus -no void years on this one $2.25m salary-cap hit
Looks like nice value to me, near identical to what Brunskil got
