Could we be looking at him for C and move Brendel to G? Vice versa?

That's channel is a bit weird in that he speaks very highly of every player he breaks down. Super optimistic scouting report on every player.
The contract is about 2.5 million fully guaranteed. You got to be kidding me, what a bargain for such a good player as far as pass protection goes.

That is true...I remember him now. His clips are legit but it's highly unlikely JF plays at that level enough to be a top 5 C.
This dude ain't no dam top 5 center.

There's a reason he was available on the bargain bin pile. In two seasons, Creed Humphrey has given up 2 sacks and 20 pressures at center. Feliciano gave up 3 sacks and 22 pressures alone last season.

The "He's a top pass blocker" stuff is nonsense. Centers as a rule don't tend to give up a lot of sacks, don't face 1 on 1 matchups as much as tackles do. Most centers rank fairly high when it comes to pass blocking. What matters most is where you rank in comparison to your peers and he was somewhere around the bottom third of NFL centers.

He's also been a consistent negative in the run game as well

Throw in the propensity for really dumb penalties and it's easy to see why all his prior teams were content with letting him go.

If the idea is for Feliciano to be a backup at center and guard, great. If he's there to compete for RG with Burford and a rookie at least, fine. But if the idea is to slot him in as a starter, that's just lazy.

Last year on a bad giants offense, he had an elite pass blocking grade at C. 1 sack allowed.

Nothing elite about a center giving up 3 sacks and 22 pressures. That's like 2.5 seasons worth of work for someone like Kelce.

In 568 pass-blocking snaps, Feliciano did concede 22 pressures and three sacks, nearly matching his career highs in both stat categories.

The only thing elite about him is his ability to commit some really bad penalties in key moments. That's the main reason why he'll be on his fourth team in six years.

He's earning the vet minimum basically because he's a journeyman OL, nothing more or less.

Oh sorry about that. I was reading a PFF stat that showed he gave up the same number of sacks as the pro bowl LT Andrew Thomas I think which was 1. It also showed his pass blocking efficiency grade at 97

I guess the stats were way off or fabricated then

A center tying a tackle for sacks isn't really impressive. Tackles go one on one far more often while centers get more help inside. This is why Andrew Thomas will be getting elite NFL left tackle money and this guy is bouncing from team to team.

The bigger issue with Feliciano is the amount of pressures that he allowed which is a problem when you're letting rushers go right up the middle on a quarterback and forcing them to escape the pocket instead of being able to step up and throw.

He's veteran depth. I'm sure he'll be fine if they need him to start for a few games in case of injury but all of this "oh, he's actually Top 5 and starting material" hype is silly.

I get it, centers always have more help and give up less sacks because they are less exposed however it just didn't add up when you said he was that bad and yet his efficiency in pass blocking was extremely good.

Either way at least we have a good back up that could start a few games like you said. I care a lot more about pass protection than run blocking but if he gives up that many pressures as you said he did I guess back up level is about right. Although he could start on a few teams I'm sure. Glad we got him that cheap

We are very insulated at almost every position. I'm a little worried about corner, specifically outside corner and free safety
Solid 1-yearer. Nothing to not like.

Indeed, a 1yr $2.25M deal, worth up to $3.25M with incentives, good signing, love it, can play C, RG, LG, & even some Tackle, new Brunskill for this year.

Yup, love the pickup. He's a dog too. We need some more of that on the OL. Even if he goes overboard at times. LOL

I honestly hope this guy doesn't make the roster because we drafted a promising center/guard prospect or Jason Poe takes the next step in his development.
