That's only natural. I don't know what the average age is for people on this forum but my guess is many aren't old enough to remember those days. Thr Niners had some great players on offense in the 50s and 60s.
Wilcox was one of the highlights in watching the Niners in those years. He provided gutty but athletic play. Someone to be proud of.
49ers tapped him in the third round (29th overall) of the NFL draft.

You're 100% correct that the guys before the Super Bowl era don't get the respect they deserve. The team does, but I think the younger fans don't really know who they are. There were some damn good players on those teams (and we lost a great one).
